Nifty 50's is a 50's inspired lifestyle and culture one stop shop.
Nifty 50's was started by Mark Anthony in 1989. In its beginning it started as a restaurant with fifties inspired décor; walls covered with 50s pinup photos and the 50s greatest icons: Elvis, Dean, Monroe, Betty and more... After countless requests to buy the artwork and memorabilia items straight from the wall it inspired me to open a store that embodied everything that the Fifties era encompassed. At that point, I opened my own store, Nifty 50’s. I wanted to create a one stop shop for people that love and live the fifties in conjunction with creating an environment that facilitates a ‘bring you back’ fifties nostalgic atmosphere. My desire was to carry a multitude of fifties influenced and inspired product; when deciphering what product I would carry to live up to the legacy that is the 50s, I choose to carry only product that depicts the 50s icons and also brands that resemble the eras lifestyle. The store caters heavy to both the male and female patrons of all ages (even babies!) The product theme is diverse amongst its genre: from Bettie Page portrait handbags to 50s vintage retro-inspired kisslock handbags; James dean ceramic goods: mugs, plates, etc; Johnny Cash memorabilia including the best selling onesies with catchy phrases like ‘Crawl the Line’; car/motorcycle/pin-up/rock n’ roll/rockabilly culture and lifestyle inspired designs provided by Lucky 13 apparel; Betty Page pin up photos, some of which are provided by the famous artist Olivia; the man himself: John Wayne in a life-size take home cardboard cutout; the black and White film collectibles including the Munsters and old horror movies with monsters, zombies and the like; etc. Being that I have a store that is visited for memorabilia, collectibles and novelties; there was a demand to carry a selection of more modern culture influenced products like Hello Kitty, Angry Birds, and popular modern pop culture influencers like Twilight characters (Go Team Edward!) and music pop stars like Justin Beiber (Do you have Beiber fever?) The product categories are as extensive as the themes themselves. The store carries large volumes of apparel including t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, cardigans, etc (Lucky 13 apparel is my #1 selling brand for the lifestyle influenced apparel); accessories including handbags, hats/beanies, patches, lunch pails, wallets, jewelry, countless ‘lady’ goods, computer bags (Lounge Fly is my #1 seller for MAC accessories – check out the Hello Kitty cases!); countless collectibles/novelties including artwork/pictures; dolls; ceramic goods: plates, mugs, cookie jars; cardboard cutouts, etc. We developed such a loyal following and were growing rapidly beyond all expectations; that I realized the next step was to expand. So now you can find all your fifties needs in multiple locations all year around! Nifty 50s has also developed into a traveling roadshow visiting the major California county fairs (San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles) and with a permanent year-around residence at the OC Marketplace for the weekend swapmeets… The OC marketplace location is easily recognizable with a huge trailer set up; you can’t miss it, just look for the huge crowds of people! The spot location is # M221 located on the back row conveniently located next to the Produce vendors and Hair Salon for easy locating! Our main retail location is located at Westfield Main Place Mall; the address is 2800 Main St, Suite 558, Santa Ana, CA 92705. Please feel free to call the store with any questions and/or product related requests: (714) 543-0625. And always, come by to say Hi and reminisce your fifties heyday!
