First time here and will be back. The waiters were moving fast but very attentive. The presentation was fun the kids enjoyed. The portions are very large you will have left over. The combo was chicken steak and shrimp. The yummy sauce was good. The sake was really good and fun to do. Our chef even had the kids do it with lemonade. Fried calamari and shrimp tempura was great. Everything was delicious. Vegetarian options: Salad soups fried rice Parking: Open parking lot Kid-friendliness: Kid hibachi menu Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap spots
I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. Not only did they forget to include soy sauce and chopsticks with my order, but when I called to inquire about it, the person who picked up was unbelievably rude and actually hung up on me. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable, and it left a sour taste in my mouth that overshadowed any potential enjoyment of the food. I won't be returning to this establishment, and I strongly advise others to think twice before giving them their business.
A few friends and I visited another friend at Kessler in West Orange. I thought let's make it a day and have dinner afterwards. We decided on Hibachi. We found Nikko's and made reservations for 3 at 6:30pm. We arrived on time and were asked to wait a few minutes by a polite gentleman that I believe was the host. After a few minutes he led us to our table. A woman came after a while and took our drink orders and returned to give everyone a salad and soup. They were both tasty, especially the the salad great dressing. Our drinks were served, I had a Vodka Soda and 1 of my friends had a glass of Chardonnay which she enjoyed, the other settled for Ginger Ale. We were chatting and enjoying each other's company and then we noticed that we had been sitting for an hour and an itamae hadn't come out yet. 10 minutes later he arrives don't skip lunch, like I did and starts entertaining cooking. The food was delicious. I ordered the steak and shrimp combo and my friends ordered lobster tail and shrimp combo. I gave 4 stars because we waited for so long and the person taking our drink order didn't check to see if anyone wanted another drink.
Place is clean, staff efficient and unobtrusive. Offers seating at the bar, or full fledged hibachi experience. I had fishbowl cocktail - pretty good, not to strong. Good got special occasion - birthday, graduation, etc.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: NoDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
The restaurant is clean and attractive. Though some things which should be hidden from the customers are out in public view such as the filter for their indoor koi pond. They have many signs around the restauarant which should be made permanent instead of a piece of paper taped to the wall. The service is a step down. It is not uncommon for the servers to only stop only before and after the food preparation, but I still meed to knock them for not being better. I also have to ding them once more for the engagement of the chef who took some shortcuts and gave an impression of just doing the job. You can catch anyone on a bad day, but part of the job is the act. Finally, the food was very sweet and this has been my experience at this restaurant in the past too. Their dipping sauces are different from the other Hibachi restaurants in the area and notably sweeter with no horseradish option. The cooking sauces also tasted sweeter and in generous quantity. Some may prefer the extra sugary sweetness, but for me it was far too much. I want to enjoy this restaurant more. There is no reason to avoid this restaurant. There are multiple better hibachi options in the area.
The food was overpriced for tasteless fried rice, which they charge $3 per person for, tasteless lomein, and a load of vegetables. Minimal main fish or meat. Soup was a horrible onion soup. No dessert offered. Waitress said she couldn't give me back the full amount of change I requested? Plate was dirty! Do Not waste your time or money!
Went here with a party of 20 pp to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday…The Ambiance was nice drinks were good food was ok…only thing I didn’t like was that there was no dj playing music as stated google…Oh and another thing I definitely didn’t like was once the hibachi chefs finish playing around with the spatulas and fire and finally given us our food they pretty much gave us about 20 min to finish eating and then they were kinda rushing us out.
I was craving a hibachi cooked meal so i stopped in for lunch by myself. I was seated promptly upon arrival in an appropriately sized booth not the Hibachi table but that was fine, I was only there for the food not the show. I ordered the chicken hibachi meal, it was served promptly and it was delicious. The ginger salad dressing is as good as anywhere else in the area, as were the sauces served with the meal. I will not hesitate to go here for lunch again in the future. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available. And delicious. Parking: Ample parking available
The hibachi chef that we had both times that I visited was good, there has never been anyone actually waiting at the front desk both times that I visited. We had to stand around and wait for someone to come both times. It would be nice to be greeted and checked in for seating upon arrival. The food is OK though. They could do a little more to the noodles and the rice, but it’s a cool place to take the family.
There was a clear difference in the food from my first visit to Nikko almost 2 years ago versus this past week. The portions used to be bigger don't get me wrong, it's plenty to be full and the prices have gone up then what is listed on their menu and website. The service was good but it's also because we visited early dinner on a weekday. I was reallly excited to be back here but was a little disappointed. I don't feel the flavors were the same and I ended up with a stomach ache after. I will be looking for another go-to hibachi spot now.
