The Nipomo Firefighters' Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation supporting the paid call firefighters in Nipomo, California.
The Nipomo Firefighters' Association (NFA) is a non-profit organization formed by the paid call firefighters in Nipomo to help raise awareness of fire safety and to raise funds to provide an even higher level of safety equipment and training for the PCFs. Community members are invited to join the NFA as part of its Auxiliary Committee, supporting the firefighters in their fundraising and community service events.
The NFA holds an annual BBQ in Nipomo as its main fundraiser. Continuing success is due to the help of the sponsors like Jockos, Little Jockos, Vons in Nipomo, M & G Distributing, the Dana-Powers House, the Nipomo UPS Store, P W Mann Electric, Carrie Jaymes Photography, Frito Lay, Albertson's in Arroyo Grande and the commitment of the PCFs and auxiliary members to providing outstanding community service. A Pancake Breakfast is also held at the Company 20 Station on July 4 to thank the community for its support.
Past funds raised have been used for EMT and Fire Academy tuition assistance, updates in equipment for the Station 20 Rescue vehicle, community donations to the Kindle Academy and the Burn Relay, providing the local Boy Scout troop with first aid kits, and various training props and supplies used during PCF training.
Not only does membership in the NFA serve the community, but it gives community members the opportunity to get to know the local firefighters through participating together in both service and social events. The sense of satisfaction is shared for a job well done by both professional PCF staff and those who support them.
The NFA Auxiliary Committee meets at Station 20 at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. We welcome membership of all ages, both individuals and businesses, and we hope you will join us in supporting the Nipomo PCFs.
The purpose of the NFA is to provide and promote community fire safety, service and education, and to raise funds to purchase equipment and training for the firefighters and the community.
