So much fun! We did the archery range and hatchet throwing the night we got there. You need to have someone trained as a "range master" by the office staff before getting the items and using the targets. The ropes course can only be used if you have someone trained at Zions or Ensign Ranch before hand. They have a waterslide for the summer months usage. There is a human foosball area set up for use next to that. There is a Zipline that goes across the creek to the little island nearby those. The island has a bridge to get to or a rope bridge to attempt. We participated in an orientation compass course that didn't have a good starting point, but we used the stump by the Manager's trailer near the front. They also have plastic tubes that you can push people around in the field, 2 baseball backstops, log teeter totters, teatherball, horse shoes, volleyball, bucket swings, tire swing, and trails. There are flushable bathrooms with showers in the center of camp and lots of porta potties around. Only 2 cars per camp site and the other cars can be parked in parking areas. Many have undercovered picnic tables and great camping sites. No pets allowed on property. We enjoyed our trip!
Definitely one of the best places around! Lots of fun things to do! Cool river and creek access and great camping. Beautiful spot!
A great private campground to go to for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Private, quiet, not a huge amount of amenities but absolutely wonderful to visit and stay at.
The sites are more private than I would have thought. The tree cover is beautiful. It is pretty noisy with trains, but it rained our night there and we didn't hear many campers. I had a good time, will return, but here are my complaints and a few suggestions- The second "playground" is just one of those tiny toddler things like little tikes or playschool you might even have in your home. It's NOT a playground. Was very disappointed in that. By contrast the one closer to the entrance is very nice. The portapotties are plentiful, but hadn't been emptied in 5 days from our visit so the smell was pretty bad. Maybe there is a reason not to, but some sort of air freshener would be nice. Also a small shelf for your flashlight would be nice. Apparently there is no fishing on Sundays, which would have been nice to know and was never mentioned if it's on the website, I didn't see it or listed and kind of ruined that part of the trip for us. Why I'll go back: big, clean, sites. Beautiful area. Pretty cheap rental cost. Plenty of trash cans, water spigots, and portapotties to make things easier. EDIT: Apologies for reviewing the wrong place. Google Maps must have thought I was at this place. I'm going to see if I can move my review, otherwise I'll delete.
Our first time here for our church’s Father and Son campout. The grounds are immaculate. Super clean restroom. Celestial state of being this recreational spot.
This camp is very low cost when you can get it, has grown over the years for amenities and now has river access.
This is a quiet retreat, mostly primitive,, camping, but there are aframe cabins, tent platforms, and tent sites. Also, they have a few RV sites. Water is available all over camp, and electricity at the RV sites. Lastely, here are a couple of backpacker tent sites in soft sand right by the Nisqually River, very peaceful.
I am a Nisqually Tribal Member. We have a area for Nisqually Tribal Members and yesterday we had a First Salmon Ceremony there and we ate salmon that was cooked traditionally by a fire. It was a great day with my Community and fellow coworkers.
It's a great campground. If your tenting, I recommend getting a spot along the river. While there is no electricity at tent locations, there is water access every 50 or so feet. They also brought in plenty of honey buckets equipped with hand sanitizer. If your willing to walk a little, there are available restrooms with hot water. The showers near the tent sites at the river were closed due to vandalism. Most of the tent sites are large enough for 2 extra large tents and 2 cars. Most campsites have a table and steel fire pit with surface for cooking with pans. The store had good essential items, but was closed on the Sunday we went. Next time we come back, we plan on bringing a battery for charging devices and maybe running a tent fan. We will also bring something to repel mosquitoes
They have carved out the road in areas to reduce speeding, but you still scrape your car going 2 MPH. No hands sanitizer in porta potty. The campsites themselves are nice. Also being along river helped keep temp a little cooler on a hot day.
