Update- deducted one star: I called the office during March 2023 and requested a trial pair of contacts with my current prescription before ordering a year's supply, following the same process I have for over 15 years. The attending receptionist was unspeakably rude in tone & curt in providing basic information. I was told I could not pick up trial contacts. My request would be forwarded to Dr. Boone Jr. "in the back" who "would determine if he had those" and I "would receive a call" letting me know more. We are now in May, and I am still waiting on that call. I am out of contacts and am researching sourcing my contacts online since the price is the same. I have seen Dr. Daniel Boone Sr. since I was a teen. He was always warm and gracious, down-to-earth, easy to connect with & honest. As a young adult I saw Dr. Turner a few times as well. I found her to be knowledgeable and friendly. With my own children we have been under the care of Dr. Daniel Boone Jr. Although I do not personally feel comfortable with him, the children do and that is key for me. I have purchased both contacts and lenses from Nixa Family Eyecare over the years and I have never been disappointed. I always wait to order until I have worn the trial pair of contacts to make sure the prescription is right for me. I do recommend this office and these practitioners. They are good in their fields.
I'm fairly new to the area, and was able to get an appointment within 6 weeks of me calling them other places I called had availability 3 months out. Staff was friendly, eye exam went smoothly, was provided information on how to get a rebate for ordering contacts, and was provided some trial contact lenses to ensure I had enough until my order came in - I must have lost a few lenses when I moved to the area.
Doctor Boone and staff were awesome. The only issue I have is my glasses, I chose the frame so I share in my disappointment. I go back in a couple of weeks and will get new ones. It's been a year. I plan to continue with this practice.
Worst experience ever. -Didn’t give me the contacts I requested. Made me do a trial pair of something THEY wanted me to wear. - When I complained and informed them of my discomfort with the new trial contacts they wanted me to wear, they refused to switch me to another brand or my previous contact type that I was comfortable with. - Then, when I just asked for my prescription to go somewhere else, they refused to give it to me, even though I had already paid all contact exam and fitting fees, and stated I would need to have another ADDITIONAL visit before they would release my prescription. - Fast Forward 4 months, I called and finally was able to get them to print my prescription. But they wouldn’t put the brand on there that I had worn for years it’s still around, not like it was discontinued or had any issues, and stated they would ONLY put the brand they wanted me to buy from their trial program. I’ve never had this many issues with a simple eye exam. With previous eye doctors there were never issues with getting me in to the right contact, and they would switch brands without me having to pay for extra visits or do a bunch of trials. - Also, the front staff are ridiculously rude, they always have an attitude, and can’t seem to be kind for anything. Would recommend going to ANY other eye doctor. Even Wal-Mart’s eye doctor had better customer service and an overall experience.
I have been going to Dr Boone since I was a child, when he was at his original location, I have never had a bad experience, twice as an adult I have tried other places and always go back to Dr Boone whether I still live in the area or not, I will make the drive. Couldn't be more pleased.

First time there and this office was soooo nice. Everyone we as super nice. Ran a little behind schedule but still took great care of my daughters needs.
I was told i had to wear a mask. I told them i can't wear one. The exam then stopped, i was asked to go into a different room. Dr. Boone them comes in and says i hear you don't want to wear a mask. That upset me, as i told the lady i cannot wear one. I wasn't asked as to why i can't...i offered to use my shirt for the few moments they would even get close but that wasn't good enough as it doesn't seal as good as the masks that covid is transmitted via the air. I advised his mask didn't seal and wasn't sealed nor his staff. I've worked jobs requiring a sealed respirator because there was actually risk. I offered to hold the mask in front of my mouth and nose as to not get any of my bodily fluids on them but that was declined as well. I was told i could reschedule after covid or wear a mask, so i left.
Dr. Boone and Dr. Turner are awesome! Very attentive to the needs of your eye health, they speak to you on your level and explain all issues. The staff are so kind and knowledgeable of all the testing and equipment they use. Thank you all at Nixa Eye Care!
They are always kind to me there & have been most helpful. I have been here before but my husband has not. He went to an eye clinic near his work place & found they don't take Avesis after he went through the process of getting a prescription. Ugh $$$ Luckily he was able to take his prescription to Family Eye Care & order contacts there. And they do take Avesis. He'll be going to this eye clinic from now on also. :
