My second visit to a presidential library. Nixon's colorful history with his groundbreaking cultural diplomatic visit to China, ending the Vietnam War, and the infamous Watergate Scandal. Taking the opportunity to tour Nixon's childhood home on the library grounds, seeing a lifesize replica of the Presidential Oval Office, walking along the beautiful gardens, and immersing myself with the historical exhibits were great experiences. I admired how Nixon's demise with the Watergate scandal were presented in great detail and accuracy.
As a student of history and politics, it is always an enjoyable experience to learn more about a historical figure. The museum does a wonderful job in displaying details about a very complex man. Pat Nixon's Garden is absolutely beautiful and tranquil.Visited onWeekdayWait time1 hr+Reservation recommendedNo
A very well-organized museum. It's quite enjoyable as it has extensive collection. If you did not know about the the Watergate, thus is the place to learn about it with multimedia experience. Recommended for students as they can look and feel 60&70 in a few hours.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
A hidden gem! Who would've known Richard Nixon accomplished so much such as founding the EPA, signing the Clean Air and Water Act, and ending the Vietnam War! The list goes way beyond the three point I made. Before the museum I only knew Nixon for Watergate, afterwards, I know even more about Watergate, but I also know a lot of great things Nixon did. In my opinion, this is the most informative and opinion shifting presidential library. Showing both the malevolence and benevolence within Richard Nixon Definitely recommend!
Just like the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley. Here comes the second and final Presidential Library that is based in CA. The Richard Nixon Presidential Library & Museum. Most notably, President Nixon is well known for his Watergate Scandal. What we are rarely exposed to in our US History class are the other accomplishments that he had done while he was in office. Being able to attend his Presidential Library has open my eyes to just that. From his early childhood/home in Yorba Linda, his family, being a lawyer, all the way to being our 37th President of the United States. When Nixon left office, he wanted to known as a peacekeeper. Was he? Well, you will have to find that out when you finish reading this review, head to your vehicle and head straight there to the Richard Nixon Library & Museum in Yorba Linda. Have Fun!
Time helps us understand history. The Nixon Presidential Library helps us all put the past into perspective. The story of some of the most turbulent times in our Nation's history is very well told here. Obviously Watergate, is told in detail, as are such milestones as the return of America's Vietnam POW's, the negotiated peace and exit from Vietnam, and Nixon's leadership in environmental and worker protection, and greater integration of our races and genders. As a male born in 1972 I knew only part of the story. I knew each of the events but had never had their interconnections drawn. I failed to see the diplomat he was as a President and the elder statesman he had become after his Presidency. I am so glad we came here. I would not recommend it for people under the age of about 15 because there is just a lot to absorb but I will definately be returning because there is still more for me to take in. The museum is very well curated and the docents are incredible. Oh and where else can you sit behind the Presidents desk in an exact replica of the Oval Office?
The Richard Nixon Library and Museum is one of my favorite places in Orange County. All exhibitions are informative. I was able to learn a lot about Nixon’s presidency, incredible life and family. The rose garden and the garden area around his birthplace home are beautiful and peaceful. I'm so happy I was able to marry at this gorgeous place. I had to postpone my wedding for two years because of Covid. My husband and I decided to marry 8/14/22. The staff was incredible and professional. I want to thank Cierra Lane, Keviann Dennison, Marissa, Amy and all the staff that help and supported us in creating this important event. We had our wedding ceremony at the rose garden, and we were able to take photos at the helicopter, oval office exhibition and around the property. This place is a great venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions.
The Candlelight event was truly a one of a kind event that stops at no expense to deliver classical music in an intimate, beautiful, and unforgettable experience.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$31+
The weather wasn't the greatest so we needed something to do inside. We're glad we made the visit. A great exhibit on the life of Nixon and the rose garden is stunning.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$16–20
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. Lots of history, and it's physically located at the place where he was born and where he lays to rest. I learned a lot today, he actually accomplished a lot as a president, too bad his legacy was tarnished by the Watergate scandal....nowadays that would be nothing compared to the corruption with recent administrations...lol
