The Nk̓ʷusm Salish Language School, located on the Flathead Indian Reservation in northwestern Montana was founded in 2002, serves young children in preschool and kindergarten to the eighth grade. The school is a complete academic experience dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Salish Language. The curriculum is based on the Changing Seasons in the Salish Language and culture. The children receive instruction in their people’s native tongue. The curriculum and programs are specifically designed to create conversationally fluent Salish speakers.
