The Noodle Bowl New Bedford (NBNB) is a new concept restaurant that will be opening soon in Downtown New Bedford. The food is inspired by international techniques and flavors combined with local seasonal ingredients.
NBNB comes from the hearts and minds of the Jezierski family (the J's). Maddi, a native born Cape Verdean, immigrated to the United States at the age of 6. Family meals were cooked fresh, 3 times a day, 7 days a week, using ingredients from her mother's large and diverse "community" garden. Jim grew up on an Eastern European diet with ingredients sourced from their family farm and supplemented with local fresh water fish and meats from nearby farms. The product of the combined cultures takes shape in Chef Matt - a classically trained chef with over 10 years of experience.
For the Chef, growing up in a Polish/Cape Verdean household allowed him to experience a wide range of foods at a very young age. Food has always been a central part of the family, be it a nightly dinner, a festive party for friends, or a holiday meal.
Having lived in both San Francisco’s Chinatown and North Beach neighborhoods, he was able to experience a wide array of food styles and work with creative chefs which gave him a new and unique view that is missing in the Southcoast.
Enter The Noodle Bowl New Bedford. The goal is to offer a different style of food to the area, using seasonal and local ingredients as often as possible and to change the menu as the seasons dictate. We hope NBNB will become a staple in downtown New Bedford for a quick lunch for students, a unique dinner experience for the community, and an interesting late night option for bar goers.
