I really like this airport, it's not that far from my house and saves me on many occasions going to SFO which adds on cost and time to my trip. I also like that it's fairly small and well set out compared with other domestic airports. Personally, I really like it has a non stop service to the UK by British Airways. The parking is also pretty good. I have used the economy 1 parking lot for $18/day a few times. They have updated that lot with a large multistory parking structure in recent years. Also, now has automatic plate readers on the gates if you've prepaid that open/close without presenting your QR code. I have always found the airport clean especially the restrooms.
I try not to be here unless absolutely necessary, but it is a lot nicer than San Diego's airport at least. It looks fairly modern, and all of the gates being along one long hallway means that if you want a good, less busy bathroom, just go down the hallway away from security. Security lines aren't that long, either. They just have massive bright billboards inside of Silicon Valley big tech company ads playing everywhere, which adds some entertainment while in line for security.
Clean airport. Surprisingly, this airport is not that crowded. Traffic wasn’t also too bad. A lot of shops are closed. Terminal could have more screens for flight updates. There was inaccuracy in flight gate displayed on screen vs actual. Car rental location is on a separate building across the terminal. The entry of car rental return is kind of a winding drive along the roads in the terminal.
Excellent Airport Experience Alert! Hey everyone! I just had to share my recent experience at this amazing airport that I stumbled upon. Let me tell you, it's an absolute gem! First things first, this airport is smaller in size, which means no more endless walking and getting lost in a maze of terminals. It's just the right size, making navigation a breeze! ‍ But what truly sets this airport apart is its smooth security check-in process. No long queues, no frantic rush, just a seamless and efficient procedure that gets you through in no time. Talk about stress-free travel! One of the things I absolutely loved about this airport is that it's not overly crowded. It's like a hidden oasis of tranquility amidst the chaos of air travel. The calm atmosphere creates a soothing ambiance, allowing you to relax and unwind before your flight. And let's not forget about the staff! The airport personnel are incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Their warm and welcoming attitude adds an extra touch of comfort to the overall experience. Now, let me share a little bit of history about this fantastic airport. San Jose Airport, also known as Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1945. Originally named San Jose Municipal Airport, it served as a military airfield during World War II. Over the years, the airport underwent several expansions and renovations to accommodate the growing number of passengers. Today, it stands as a modern and efficient airport, offering a wide range of domestic and international flights. Whether you're a frequent flyer or just someone who appreciates a hassle-free journey, I highly recommend checking out this airport. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! So, if you're looking for a stress-free, smooth, and calm airport experience, this is the place to be. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Safe travels, everyone!
I have had the pleasure of using the San Jose Mineta International Airport on numerous occasions, and I am consistently impressed by their commitment to maintaining clean facilities. Every time I enter the airport, I'm greeted by a spotless environment that reflects their dedication to providing travelers with a comfortable and pleasant experience. The staff's attention to detail is evident in the well-kept floors, sparkling restrooms, and overall cleanliness throughout the facility. As someone who frequents the airport, I can confidently say that their efforts in this area do not go unnoticed.
This airport is pretty easy to navigate compared to LAX. Decent amount of food options to choose from in the Alaska and Southwest terminal.
Southwest is the most unprofessional airline here period! Laquisha/tanishsha/Latifa whatever her name was should be working as a janitor instead of a airline! She slandered me to the other employee thinking I couldn’t hear. Being a multiple business owner she would be fired! I will never deal with them again Id rather drive. They denied me access to pre board even though I have a handicap . I’ve been refunded my money by southwest to say the least. My Ada complaint still in process. I was still granted access with my wheel chair through a airport employee after her telling me “I’m going to miss my flight” . Her pride should be into finding a higher position instead of trying to make her self feel important!
Foot traffic wasn’t too bad on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-October 2023. Security works through the lines pretty fast, and once you get past security there are various souvenir shops. The gates are easily accessible and plenty of seating areas. However I do find the bathrooms and the overall look and feel of SJC to be outdated. It would be much more contemporary and appealing if there was renovation. Finally thankful that the rental car center is situated at the airport.
I love the uniqueness of this airport. The art is great. The SWA side of things is sleek and clean. I never mind flying out of here.
Quick and easy arrival. There are security measures to keep traffic flowing. Options for pick up need to be quick, crossing across the road is available, bus, uber, rental car pickup. Parking spaces for a fee.
