As year after year our graduates advance to the next stages of their lives well-prepared to tackle their challenges, the correlation between rankings and performance become apparent. It’s no accident: Our students succeed and the North Canton City School District continues to climb in the rankings of top school districts in Ohio and in the national rankings, too. Listed by most school district ranking sites in the top 5 percent in the nation, we’ve also earned a top-40 ranking in Ohio (out of 1,600+ total schools).
We are proud of these acknowledgments, but only in that the proof is in our students. As a district, we focus on the skills our students will need to help them be leaders in the 21st century economy. We know what employers want, and we make sure our students leave equipped for success whether they go into a trade, higher education or on to serve our country in the military.
What’s more, our students excel beyond the classroom. Our sports teams regularly compete for championships at the district, regional and state level. Our arts programs are recognized as some of the best regionally and our extracurricular/club activity participation rate is more than 80 percent. Integration of these activities throughout the district starts in kindergarten and continues through graduation.
