Simply stunning. Amazing drive with frequent stops for picnics and scenic overlooks. The string of dams are awesome to see and create a series of beautiful lakes.
Thank you for improving our Parks, and I would like to help , I, m always there in your neighborhood I will stop bye next Monday , our Parks are great and outside your door just Sunday while you were away , This Eagle was geting Harrased by California Buzzards that I think fled from The Califirnia Wild Fire....
High way 20 north cascades is the most beautiful spot in Washington
Phenomenal. A wonderful change from the flat Midwest where I live. Simply standing in the presence of the park's towering massive peaks is humbling. A wonderful location to visit and linger. Allow plenty of time to fully experience and enjoy the majesty of the park.
What a nice experience! I was treated well, my purchase went smoothly, and there was lots of interesting things to see
The park staff are incredible. We went up to hurricane ridge which had about 90" of snow. The visitors center at the top had a snack shop, equipment rental and a gift shop. This is another one of our national treasures.
This is the combined HQ of North Cascades National Park and the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. You're still a few miles from both those places, but this is a great start for getting maps, guide books, and first-hand info from friendly, knowledgeable humans. Check their hours; they're not open weekends in the winter.
No phone numbers available?? Ridiculous!
A lovely facility with a knowledgeable and helpful staff, plus a good selection of gifts, books and maps as well as all the passes and permits needed for using the Federal lands. A downside is the very limited area covered by the maps. Mount Baker and North Cascades areas are the focus, and only a few folding maps cover nearby areas such as Glacier, Wenatchee, etc. There are zero maps available for any area outside Washington, which was very disappointing, as we had hoped to obtain information in use planning a trip to the SW States. Online is the only option, unfortunately. The only other sticking point is the fact that they are not open Saturdays and Sundays, days when most visitors come through the area, but the Visitor Center in Newhalem would be open during the warmer weather, so perhaps that's the reasoning.
If you live next to the maintenance Facility they changed to a park on a one lane farm road . Without permits. t's not such a nice experience. Rangers Creeping around in the bushes taking photos of stuff you're working on, Turn you into the county even though it's totally legal. The county tells them And THAY STILL COMPLAIN .I'm talking about having a parkmodel Trailer for my 80 year old mom on my 7 acres. Crazy huh. 100s of horribly corrupt e mails and 50 thay won't release. Puts emp.in bad light thay say.?? I could go on .epitome of government waste and overreach.
