North Columbus Public Library

I havent been a "library" person till I became somewhat disabled but love the size of this library and nowadays you can get digital also. This library is a comfortable atmosphere like sitting in your living room at home. Thanks to the 2 ladies who helped me today. Super nice people.

This is my favorite branch in Columbus. It’s always clean and quiet when I visit, and every staff member I’ve met has been so sweet and helpful when I’ve had any questions. I also love the fun informational and book recommendation displays they have everywhere! It really makes it feel like a creative and inviting environment.

this place is horrible. it may be a nice place to find a book but not for studying or reading. 1. the wifi that they have is always going in and out and most of the time it doesn’t even work. 2. a library is supposed to be quiet right? apparently not this library. whenever little kids do come to visit the library, they are always screaming and running around. no staff every does anything to intervene in the situation but instead just stand there and let them go on 3. the teen space isn’t really a teen space. i went to sit down at the teen table after 4 o clock and there was a 60 year old sitting across from me for almost 2 hours. none of the staff ever came up and said anything.

Staff is super friendly and they have a great selection in books for adults and kids. If you can’t find what you’re looking for they will see if the other libraries have it and call you when it arrives. Kids love the activities there as well.

A great place to save money on books and movies. Very liberal policy on the length of borrowing.

3-22-2021 No complaints. I have been fortunate in my trips here to have positive interactions with staff and machines. I am not techno-savvy, so staff have graciously tutored me in the use of the self check-out station. This machine is very user friendly.

I was a big library supporter and this was my favorite branch. Now, it is an example of why libraries are destined for extinction. It was once a comfortable space near a shady park with friendly-enough people that would help you find what you wanted. All that has changed. Thanks to their "safety" protocols, it is all but unusable. They have roped off everything. There is no place to sit. Despite finding out that the virus is rarely transmitted on surfaces, there is still an extreme book handling procedure in place. The current staff seems to be unhappy that they had to come back to work from the shutdown. There are a lot of staff, including a newly added guard, not doing much. How could they be? It is a very unwelcoming environment now. I understand the temperature taking and the spacing but this is more like an Ebola ward. You must have your entire face covered the entire time. There is no exception when you are in your own space. I really do not see a reason to return. The nice quiet atmosphere was the last real reason to go. Sadly, that has gone the way of the dinosaur as will this library soon.
