I'm highly disappointed with this doctor's office. I was referred to North Hills Family Clinic as a new patient by a close friend. I scheduled an appointment recently but forgot due to the recent passing of my mother. I forgot to call to cancel/reschedule during my process of making funeral arrangements and grieving and was considered a "no show"i am sure a doctor's appointment would be the last thing on someone's mind during a time like this. However i called today to see if I could possibly reschedule my new patient appointment and was told based on policy, my reason for missing my 1st appointment was not valid and they could not honor my request. Talk about "HUMANITY" :
I have been going to Dr. Burns for going on a year now. He is a very compassionate, caring, and understanding doctor. He has a polite and and upbeat demeanor. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he actually takes time to sit down beside you and listen as well. I absolutely love Dr. Burns and would recommend him very highly and I intend to keep him as my PCP for as long as he is in practice.
The nurse practitioner they have there is terrible! She is slow and doesn't know how to diagnose a thing. The doctor we normally see was out of the office two times and had to see her. When we see Dr Burns...we are in and out in 30 minutes without any problems. When we have to see the nurse practitioner...almost 2 hours and she acts like she doesn't really know what is wrong! Might as well go to the local ER. They need to give her the boot!
I had been informed that my PCP was no longer "in network" with my United Healthcare coverage so I went on a search to find a new PCP for both me and my son. My son was able to schedule an appointment here and was seen within a couple of weeks. I, however, was refused service and when asked for the reason why, my reply was simply "I don't know."
Been going for over 10 years. Needed 6 pills to make it to next appointment. They said they "couldn't do it". Not pain pills or anything just Lexapro. Dr. Chris Cobb is solid but the ladies up front are pretty terrible and cold. I'm pretty sure these problems never make it to the Doc.
Have been Dr Burns patient for nearly 10 years, great doctor with my mild type 2 diabetes and hep-c recovery. Yet today as I turn 65, his clinic refuses my medicare with United healthcare coverage. United healthcare yet lists him as a provider! This turns his great care into a complete ZERO, for the rest of my existence on this planet. I pity him and North Hills Family practice.
Dr Chris Cobb is a wonderful doctor because he cares about your health. He tries to help educate you about your diagnosis and what you can do. His goal is to see you healed. So many doctors listen and then write a prescription and send you on your way. Dr Chris Cobb is genuinely concerned!
Everyone from the front desk to the doctors care and that is very evident from the moment you walk in the doors. While I admit I would prefer a waiting room with more of a hippy vibe bean bags etc lol All three doctors are extremely knowledgeable kind , patient and most importantly they communicate ,. They take the time to listen to your concerns . Dr Joel Cobb had the misfortune of seeing me shortly after I was pistol whipped > I was a mess not only did i talk so fast he could barely understand me but I was rude., . He overlooked the rudeness took the time to get me to slow down and treated my anxiety disorder successfully without a lot of medications I was a hermit seldom leaving my house now I am following my dream of becoming a photographer
I absolutely adore Dr. Burns and his nurse Sherry, as well as the wonderful ladies who staff the clinic. They all deserve praise, because they have been nothing but kind, caring and truly give honor to the medical profession. Thank you all!
My PCP is Dr. Burns. He's amazing! Highly recommend him. The center itself has improved within the last year.
