Stopped in before our trip to Fremont canyon, Miracle mile, etc. Made trip up from S. Texas to fish and see Corb Lund. Great staff, very helpful, courteous and professional. Suggested a variety of flies and in our experience they were correct. Thank you for assisting us in our adventure!
Good fly shop. We reserved a fly fishing trip. The guide is called Jay. He is a very nice guy. He prepared all the gears for us and told us how to catch the fish. Even I told them I am from Taiwan, they were also very friendly. If you are new in fly fishing or even don't know how to fish, you can still catch fish.
Have purchased from them before online. Shipping was slow at best and original rod arrived damaged and return took weeks to arrive. Noticed a deal this time 04/02/2023 and purchased it. Money tendered from my account. They emailed me telling me product was miss priced and offered to increase the price or cancel my order. I told them I expected the tendered order to arrive at the purchased price. Not only did they promptly cancel my order without my consent, they did not do anything but say sorry for inconvenience. I understand that miss priced products take a loss for a company. But far more is lost from not fulfilling a tendered transaction. You have been warned. If you find a deal on this website, it is too good to be true. Too many good fly shops online to tie up your funds with this one. **As the reply would suggest I brought rod from a previous owner supposedly. I bought brand new from the site and the cork was horrible. I did not know the shop or could not know they shop was under new ownership. The rod I received was terrible and the replacement was equally bad. I decided to cut my loses on the rod that was $250.00 and reserve it as a backup rod that has cork so bad it gives me blisters. It stays in the tube in the attic. At the time I, blamed the producer of the previous rod more than the fly shop. Currently, I am referring to an ongoing dispute for a recent transaction from 4/2/2023 in which I purchased a deal your representative Hannah said they could not would not honor. After telling them I wanted them to honor the purchased price, my order was swiftly canceled. This is my second of three transactions that resulted in problems I have had with orders from this site. ** So while the past rod transaction had apparently occurred under previous ownership the current purchase which was canceled did not. The deal on the current site that was tendered and money removed from my account cannot be trusted. Again I say buyer beware. Take business elsewhere. At this point things have not been made right on multiple transactions and people viewing this shop should know.
This is my favorite fly shop ever. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Good vibes, good peeps, good inventory. Always fun. Also, if you're looking for a fishing guide book Travis @Wyoming Fly Fishing. He put us on so many fish and we had an absolute blast. Clean boat, clean truck and just all around 5 star service. I literally won't fish with any other outfit. Totally love this place!
This a Great Shop vast selection of gear but an outstanding guide service. We have floated the North Platte River a number of times and You "will" catch fish ! This last trip , end of March, was amazing - "TRAVIS" our guide is at the top of my leader board ! Fish On ! Give them a Try ! You won't be disappointed.
This is probably the best shop in town from price to customer service and selection ~ they have it all. They went the extra mile to show me how to tie flies for my son and marked the best spots to fish for a child his age. If you come to town, this is the only place you’ll need to stop.
Best fly shop and guide service in Casper WY. Everybody is so friendly and helpful. No matter if you're a beginner or expert this is the place you wanna be for the best fishing experience.
Just a fantastic experience with Platte River Fly Shop. Ordering from a store that doesn’t have a large online presence can make me nervous sometimes but I was thrilled to find a Patagonia coat that was sold out everywhere in my size, and they shipped it fast. Thank you so much!
I called to ask about the new Ross Colorado fly reel. I purchased a new rod and needed a great light weight reel at a reasonable price. The gentleman that I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable, understood my questions, and helped me make an informed decision. They also offered a great price for a great reel. I love that this is a family owned and operated business. It was clearly evident they care about their business and their customers. I highly recommend this business. They will be getting my business in the future for sure. Support the local American small businesses before we lose them to the big box stores that push trash from China.
I ordered pants online and there was no sizing chart. I ordered a size based on my best guess. When they arrived there was no tag and they didn't fit, so I sent them back. The shop would not refund me because there was no tag, despite the fact that it never had one when I got it. After I pointed out that it never had a tag they tried to argue that I had missed the 30 day return window, even though it had only bee 15 days. I am now out $100.
