North Snohomish Little League (NSLL) is a young league, as Little Leagues go, but our history and ties to the Little League tradition go before us as a strong foundation on which we can build. Chartered in 1996 as a “League of it’s own,” NSLL was the newly appointed little league representative for the northern half of the 13,000+ children now residing in the Snohomish School District.
The quickest way into the hearts of Snohomish families is through its youth sports. While traditionally known as a football town, with the formation of NSLL in 1996, baseball in Snohomish has quickly become an equal power. Snohomish High School has now become a perennial baseball power as 2nd place in state in 2007 and State Champions in 2008. These boys grew up playing Little League baseball in Snohomish. We proudly continue that success as our 2009 “Majors” All-star team represented our community as District Champions and State Tournament participants stopping just a few short steps away from the Little League World Series.
In addition to our connection to the Little League family, we have a privilege most leagues cannot boast: owning our own fields. We are excited to own a first class baseball complex that is teeming with potential. Using Little League’s exacting standards, we have built a facility that can host post-season tournaments, not only for Little League, but other baseball and softball organizations as well. As a business leader in Snohomish with three boys in youth sports, I am strong believer in building a stronger community for our children and this is a cause worth giving my heart to. Over 200 dedicated volunteers, board members, umpires, coaches, concession workers, grounds keepers, and “team parents” join me as we serve over 1,500 children and their parents in not only providing a safe place for kids to be, but a fun place for them to grow and develop as well. For this time, and for this purpose; “Building a Future for Our Kids,” is what North Snohomish Little League is all about.
Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball.”
Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
