I was out and about yet again in the last three weeks and decided to have a nice walk around Weeks Park, specifically the South Weeks Park Pond area. I should note that Weeks Park is quite large compared to other parks in the area and is thus ideal for family outings at the various playgrounds scattered across the walk way, the Champions Course at Weeks Park for golf, and the Weeks Park Tennis Court, and fishing. It can also be used to host various musicals and other outside events. I will say that it is the more up to date park with the improvements to the playgrounds and sidewalks.
The lack of care for the bunkers keeps this place from getting a 5. Need to bring in some white sand, not dirt and sand, that turns hard later on.
Love to spend time there every Sunday medieval combat practice
Didn't catch anything but nice break from standard town life.
Nice local park with some walking and picnic areas. Check out the pond with seasonally stocked Rainbow Trout and catfish. Adults do need a license and Texas wildlife officers do patrol this area often. The water is typically brackish and power bait works well. Restroom available but may need cleaning.
Great facility that supported an "Appreciation" gathering for the labors of hundreds of volunteers from as far away as Washington State, Cali, Az, NY & SoFLA who freely gave of their time & resources to help build, feed, & support this group who built a house of worship. All had a great time to rejoin bid good friends & newly made friends a fond farewell. Thank you WF Parks & Recreation!
Playground, pavilion and plenty of room. Parking could be nicely paved but there is plenty and it's not too bad. I've seen concerts in the park here and today was a Texoma pride event. Great public park.
Beautiful nature
The kids enjoyed it and I was thrilled they had bathrooms. However, the shade trees nearest the past structure have been cut down so it was HOT and super sunny.
Swings and huge little tikes jungle gym. Hard to find a park around here with both it seems. Wr played foe hours today. Also, right next to fire station so seems safe.
