About Our District
Northbrook School District 28 is located approximately 25 miles north of downtown Chicago, and about four miles west of Lake Michigan. We are a public K-8 elementary school district with four distinguished schools, serving the northeastern portion of Northbrook.
Our district’s mission is “to provide a teaching, learning, and caring environment where all children benefit from a commitment to excellence.” Our goal is to provide students with a strong academic and social-emotional foundation, as well as an appreciation for the value of learning and of helping others.
Our students consistently score well above average on local and state assessments, and we are always looking to improve, whether we are implementing a comprehensive literacy initiative, updating our social studies curriculum to emphasize thematic critical thinking, or offering our students the opportunity to learn a world language starting in first grade.
School District 28 is committed to enhancing and supporting student growth and development by providing challenging and diversified experiences for all students.
Our mission is to provide a teaching, learning, and caring environment where all children benefit from a commitment to excellence.
