One of five Regional Centers dedicated to supporting families with children and youth with special health care needs and the providers who serve them.
A special health care need is an illness or condition that requires specialized health care, educational, or behavioral services.
We provide:
-Easy access to information and referrals that are up-to-date and confidential. We can suggest resources on diagnosis, school issues, financial assistance, home care, sibling support and more.
- A resource library which includes books, audio tapes and videos on specific diagnoses, special education and emotional support
-Parent support including connections with other parents, local support groups, and other resources.
-Links to local social service providers such as public health departments and community agencies that help coordinate the many programs and services associated with caring for a child with special needs.
The Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Program will collaborate with national, state and community-based partners to link children to appropriate services, close service gaps, reduce duplication and develop policies to better serve families.
