We serve commercial farmers, farm advisors, researchers, graduate students, and farm communities, primarily through competitive grants that explore new sustainable agriculture techniques and ideas. The Northeast region is made up of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
To provide grants and education that help achieve our vision where agriculture in the Northeast will be diversified and profitable, providing healthful products to its customers; it will be conducted by farmers who are satisfied with their lifestyles, and have a positive influence on their communities and the environment.
