The NKBA Young Lawyers Section conducts programs and activities of interest to Northern Kentucky young lawyers and of service to the community.
The NKBA Young Lawyers Section is open to all lawyers who are members of the NKBA who are not over 40 years of age, or who have been practicing law for for less than 10 years, whichever comes later. Honorary membership is open to all NKBA members.
The NKBA YLS conducts its monthly meetings at Molly Malone's Irish Pub located at the corner of 4th and Court Streets in Covington, on the second Monday of every month (excluding December) beginning at 5:30 pm.
The YLS is involved in community outreach projects, including the Truancy Mediation Project, where attorneys volunteer their time to counsel elementary school children in Covington in an effort to eliminate problems with truancy and tardiness at school. The organization also conducts continuing legal education classes for attorneys and many social networking activities throughout the year, including a trip to the Keeneland race park, the Cincinnati Reds, a judicial reception, holiday parties, and cocktail hours.
