Staying at Northland Lodge every summer is the highlight of my year! I've been going up to Northland Lodge for the past 7 years with my husband's family and every year, it's the perfect vacation. The cabins are homey and the scenery is beautiful. Located on Lost Land Lake, if you're looking for a relaxing getaway to escape to and enjoy beautiful nature, this is the place to go. Family owned and operated, the staff is friendly and accommodating. We spend most of our days out fishing on Lost Land and Teal lakes, then at night we head to the lodge to catch up with old friends. With so many returning/regular guests, it's like everyone is family, and I've felt welcomed from my day 1 of my first visit. It's a great place for all ages.
I have not only stayed here but also worked here. It's a get away kinda place. It's quaint and in the woods surrounded by nature and AWESOME fishing. There is a lodge, which offers wifi and pizza. If you're looking for luxury or a high end kinda vacation, this is not the place. If you're looking for a relaxing vacation with the family to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, then this is the perfect place. Also, the owners are very kind and try to do everything to make your stay a comforting and memorable one.
Such a great experience on Lost Land Lake. The cabin was cute and secluded in the peaceful woods. The staff were like family and made sure I was taken care of. They even had some fun entertainment that brought the community together for laughs and good tunes. We were able to take out a pontoon and use their water toys on the lake.
One of my favorite places to come growing up. The staff became like family to me and this place has provided me with memories for life. The cabins are always clean and the staff is amazing. I can’t say enough about how much I love this place.Rooms: 5/5
Disappointed. Lake was great. Owners were very rude at times. Went to the lodge bar, we seemed like a nuisance to even be ordering drinks. Saw weather ahead of time heat advisory, asked to bring AC unit wouldn’t let us, not even an option to pay extra. So our 2 year old had to sleep in a room at around 100 degrees heat index was crazy. Other cabins had AC, but didn’t allow pets. 3 couples came, each brought a dog. Quoted ahead of time at $115 for 4 dogs to come only 3 did, which was higher than most cabins we rented in the past, but we were ok with it. When we came to pay the bill, were charged $115 per dog for one week in one cabin no damage done. Also along with the bill, look it over. Paid a $600 deposit ahead of time, didn’t take that off of the bill. Seemed like we were more of a hassle than customers. Loved the lake, but won’t stay there again.
I read all of the rave reviews before we arrived and couldn't wait to get there especially as a break from being stuck at home during quarantine! Unfortunately, it wasn't quite the getaway we were looking for. . .It was incredibly hot while we were up there and there were no fans provided, until I asked and they said, "oh, there may be one up at the lodge you can grab." We found mice droppings on the dining room table, all over the microwave and in the drawer with the utensils...they brought some traps up and we found five dead mice over the course of the next five days. The owners were very nice, but there was no offer to make things right, but rather a "well, you can't help nature" attitude. There was no cell service at all and only very spotty wifi in the lodge...the highlight of our trip was meeting another great family and spending time swimming with them, eating pizza in the lodge, and my son catching his first walleye! It felt like the lake feels a lot of pressure when it comes to finding fish, but we were there over July 4th, so maybe it was just extra busy?
A true north woods experience. Great folks, authentic rustic log cabins on beautiful lakes. See bald eagles perched and in flight, deer and other wildlife, along with the peace and tranquility of the national forest. You will long to return....Rooms: 5/5
I too have been going to Northland for many years, and often more than once. The fishing has always been wonderful, but the most important thing to me has always been the way that the owners make you feel when you are there. You become the most important thing to them and you know it when you leave. Needless to say I have been blessed to have a wonderful relationship with the whole family. If you need something, they will provide it if possible. If you have a problem, they will take care of it if they know! you have to tell them. The Ritz, it's not but if you want a up north experience right down to the log cabins and the log lodge, this is the place. God has blessed Northland Lodge and the family beyond belief.
We have been going to Northland for over 30 years. The best testament I can provide is that our children, now in their 30s and living in MI and MA , have NEVER missed a year! We look forward to our week every year.Rooms: 5/5
Our home away from home. We have been coming up here for 20 years.....our college age children still look forward to this week, a true testament of the appeal. Two of the three have all been coming here since birth, the other was 2 when we first stared coming. Great family run operation, the owners know you and care about your time there. I cannot stress how friendly and attentive the owners are. They have become our extended non blood family and we consider them friends. The cabins are very nice, they provide the rustic charm one expects when staying on a lake, and most of them are right on the lake, you are 15-20 feet away from the water yet are comfortably appointed its not the Hilton, nor do I want it to be or should it be. The lodge is beautiful. There are activities for young children, older kids and adults. They have water toy rentals paddle boats, water bikes, canoes, pontoon boats The lake is simply beautiful. It is one of the few quiet lakes in Wisconsin, meaning a 5 MPH speed limit. Boats do go faster between fishing spots, but there is no water skiing, no tubing, no jet skis. Fishing is outstanding! A wide variety of species, muskies, bass, notherns, walleyes, panfish. It is a class A musky lake, and chances of catching a legal musky are high. If you are looking for a week on a lake in northern Wisconsin, there is not a better place to enjoy family fun. If we could give this 10 stars we would.
