Welcome to Northwest Legal Planning. I founded this law firm to help people and businesses avoid legal issues and especially litigation. I spent most of my legal career helping to clean up messes. Most of those messes could, and should, have been avoided.
I am a reformed litigator. While rewarding, litigation focuses on cleaning up messes due to poor planning. I knew there was a better way to practice law, and I find it much more rewarding. That better way is to serve my clients as an Estate Planning Attorney and Business Planning Attorney.
My new role is to help my clients avoid the need of a litigator’s services. Working with my personal and business clients we strive to anticipate and head off problems that far too often end up costing lots of money to deal with.
As an Estate Planning Attorney, I help families, individuals and their loved ones avoid the burdens, pains and costs which often arise from poor planning or the failure to plan. I help to stop unintended consequences and family turmoil. My focus is helping people control and distribute their values and possessions the way they want, to whom they want and when they want.
I provide personalized comprehensive Estate Planning to those who want to insure that their values, legacy and assets are preserved for the coming generations.
In that effort, I work to transfer not only tangible assets, but also experiences, values, advice and history to loved ones. This is accomplished by building lasting relationships with my clients, not just selling them a set of documents. I believe the basis for a good lawyer-client relationship is understanding my client’s goals, wishes and desires…the documents I create are the tools I use to make those wishes and desires real. I am very proud to offer these services.
I am also a Business Planning attorney. As a business owner and as an attorney for businesses for over 10 years, I have often seen the trauma and costs associated with poor legal decisions that businesses make. My clients have ranged from contractors to cheerleading gyms. Most of these clients came to me to help clean up a mess; whether caused by them or someone else. Countless lawsuits later, I knew there was a better way.
As a Business Planning Attorney I work with my clients to avoid the common mistakes that can lead to litigation and unnecessary costs. This is accomplished by becoming a trusted advisor that my client can reach out to without the fear of getting a huge attorney bill in the mail. These businesses have confidence that I am in there corner and have their best interests and bottom line in mind. Our goal is to allow business clients to focus on doing what they love without having to deal with unnecessary legal distractions.
