After going to another ER that was absolute trash. I decided to take my son here after having several days with fever and then rash all of a sudden. From the front desk to the nurses and Doctor our visit when so smoothly ! The front desk receptionist was amazing! After our sons checkup she surprised him with lots of stickers, fist pumps and compliments. She made our 3 year old so proud and happy! Thank you !
Dr. Sellers, nurse Luz, and everyone in this ER was compassionate and kind. It's the ER, people...it's not going to be fun times so some of the bad reviews are just a result of going to an ER. I am chronically ill and have a condition where tumors grow off my nerves which gets very painful. I end up in the ER once or twice a year due to a pain flare up. This time was all due to insurance not covering my medication. I have had really bad experiences in other ERs as a chronic pain patient of 16 years. Every person in this ER treated me with empathy from the check in desk, to the triage nurse, to the PA, nurses aide, Nurse Luz, and Dr. Sellers. Nurse Luz even spent time giving me advice on how to deal with my health insurance issues. I hope Northwestern sees this review and gives kudos to the team working on Wednesday evening, July 12th around 6pm! I know medical professionals deal with a lot of complaints and negativity so I hope this gets to the ER team.
This facility does not deserve a single star. Do not come here, for any reason. We will start with how I was treated. The nurse didn’t listen to me, the doctor did not listen to me, and when I was finished, one nurse was playing with a Yo-yo, and everyone was staring at me. I spent over 2 hours in this facade of a medical center , to be given something I specifically told them would not help me. I saw a single nurse, who did not give me what I asked for, a doctor for less than 10 minutes, who then charged me $300, on top of the $1600 charge for the E-room visit. Almost 3 hours, almost $2K in charges, saw someone for a total of about 30 minutes, was not given what I asked for, or any relief for my symptoms. STAY AWAY from here at all costs. Your pocketbook and overall health will benefit from it
This "facility" does not even deserve one star, let alone half a star. If I could leave a negative zero review, I would. My husband was discriminated against and treated awful from the minute he walked through the doors with our son. The staff are not trained properly to work with children and have zero communication skills. The nurse who initially dealt with my son was rough in nature when putting in his IV, which might I add was done AWFULLY, even one of the other nurses commented on how awful it was. She was so awful that my husband had to speak up loudly and advocate for our son. They bill pump, run all kinds of unnecessary testing and DO NOT listen to you. They are unprofessional and the facility is FILTHY. If you need to go somewhere for ER care-PLEASE do yourself a favor and go somewhere else unless you enjoy being unfairly treated, discriminated against and disrespected. Sadly, after discussing with friends and family of our experience here-they too all had less than pleasant experiences here.
I actually had a good experience. The labs were good, the overall communication was good- I wish there was bit more humanity and connection..... But overall, I was treated with respect. There is no easy way to enjoy the ED, but especially Justin the crisis counselor was superb.
I mean could the person answering your phones be any more rude. If I’m calling an emergency room at midnight, I am already panicking I don’t really need your sass adding to it. Called to ask if my situation couldn’t be helped by an ER or if it was a normal thing that could wait hint: I am asking cause I’ve never been in this situation. Don’t need to be paying thousands of dollars if I can wait for my PCP in the morning. Better phone etiquette is needed here - you’re in healthcare working with people - be personable.
I was in extreme pain from a fall. 10 was not adequate to describe my pain. I was yelled at and refused common pain relief. I was told I must go to a nursing home to get pain meds. I signed myself out and they did not give me determination of my injury. I am disappointed and I do Not recommend this facility. It is not very comforting.
I went there on Monday night into Tuesday morning. I felt like my heart was coming out of my chest and I couldn’t calm down. I got up and took myself to the ER. I walked in and signed in. There was only two people besides me in the waiting room. I just wanted help. To distract myself from how I felt, I got out my computer and began doing sub plans because I didn’t know how long I’d be there. I’d say maybe 20-30 minutes later or if that I got called. I told the nursing staff how I felt and how stressed out and overwhelmed I’ve been for the past two weeks. I was basically having the worst panic attack that I’ve had in years. The nursing staff was great. The doctor was great. They ran tests and it was concluded that I was having an anxiety attack. The nurse gave me Ativan and I was able to calm down. Everyone was great and I felt a lot better after I was discharged. Thank you guys for helping me through a tough time.
Besides one very very loud receptionist who will be great at scaring people on Halloween... She was loud aggressively like been there WAY TOO LONG ...needs to go home. We only waited one hour before my handicapped adult son was seen and he said people treated him very nice. He has been coughing and hiccuping for a couple of days and started running a fever on Friday. He works with the public and I wanted him tested for Covid. He kept saying he was okay and didn't want a COVID test.. he's eyes looked red and so we went to NW ER in Grayslake. For him it was a good experience so I am happy with all.. Except whoever dropped the ball on his Zpack prescription not being called in. I have made 2 trips so far to Walgreens and we all agree HIS PAPER WORK SAYS YOU CAN PICK UP YOUR prescription at our Walgreens but GUESS WHAT It was not called in... Whose fault is that Dr Peters? My son is getting sicker... O I never got to talk to the nurse either. But my son says "yous guys R great" so for him ..There's five stars for you!! None for the unfocused needs to go home person who did not call in his script. Zero stars for you
This is about the emergency room. I did not like the service provided nor whatever new policy it has in place. Both parents can’t even go in the room with their child who needed medical attention. No one is allowed to be in the room with you. They tell lies “oh yes they can come after the doctor sees the patient” never happened. Idk if the nurses are aware that we can literally hear the conversations they have outside the room and the rude smart remarks they say about the patients. The times I went was at night. Will be the last time I go there.
