This building has been vacant for many years, and yet we are knee deep in human misery as we walk the streets. Id be willing to bet the majority of these giant buildings are vacant. Just assets owned by large corporations.
Cool place. My mom used to work here bout half a decade ago. Brought me to work some days. By now, the Emeryville oncology department is long shut down. They consolidated the oncology stuff up into their Cambridge campus and laid everyone off! Wasn't a big deal, though. My mom was glad to peace outta there.
Beautiful building and the scientists are for the most part gracious and welcoming. The Environmental, Health and Safety head made this place hell for me. Without one word of notice and behind his phoney smiles, he had me fired. This occurred after he had told me how he was stabbed in the back by a boss at his previous location. Sociopathy at its best.
Great company with a die-hard commitment to solving the problem of infectious disease.
