About Us-
Northern’s campus is located in Aberdeen, SD and is home to more than 3,200 students from across the globe. Our small campus size not only ensures easily accessible professors, proven by our 22-1 student-faculty ratio, but that you are going to be part of our campus family. At Northern State we pride ourselves on making sure you are not just a student with a number, but a face with a name.
Curriculum-
Our curriculum at Northern lets you choose from:
• 43 majors
• 41 minors
• 9 graduate degrees
•Numerous associate and pre-professional degrees.
You can obtain these degrees through the:
• College of Arts and Sciences
• Schools of Education
• School of Fine Arts
• School of Business
oOffers the only International Business program in South Dakota
If you are not sure which field of study you want to enter that is okay:
• Northern’s University College is ready and willing to help you get those pesky general classes out of the way until you decide what major best suits you.

Activities and Programs-
We will provide you with numerous amounts of activities and programs to engage in at Northern,
•Our athletic teams are part of Division II National Collegiate Athletic Association on the national level, and regionally we participate in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
•As a student you will be able to enjoy watching top notch athletic programs and as an athlete you will be competing against top notch athletes.
•For those who are not a collegiate athlete we offer a variety of inter-mural sports. We also offer over a hundred different clubs and organizations to be a part of.
The Aberdeen community offers many get-away opportunities such as the:

• Lakewood Mall
• Wiley Park/Thunder Road
•Aberdeen Wings hockey team.
