We are the Department of Nutrition & Food Systems at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Within our undergraduate degree in Nutrition, we offer the choice of 4 different emphases: Dietetics, Nutrition Science, Community Nutrition, and Nutrition and Food Systems Management. The Dietetics emphasis meets ACEND accreditation requirements as part of the process of becoming a Registered Dietitian.
Within the Graduate Programs offered in the department is the Dietetic Internship (DI).The DI is a graduate-level practicum program that incorporates supervised practice with graduate course work. Program graduates are eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians.
The Master of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Systems offers advanced study in nutrition and food systems, focusing on applications in dietetic practice and child nutrition program management.
