NYSEG Stadium - Binghamton Mets

About

NYSEG Stadium home of the Binghamton Mets

Description

NYSEG Stadium (former Binghamton Municipal Stadium) is a stadium located in the northern section of downtown Binghamton, New York. It is home to the Binghamton Mets of the double-A Eastern League. Construction began in August 1991 after it was announced that the team would be moving from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The park opened the following season, in April 1992, and seats 6,012 fans.

The stadium is a split-level construction, with a concourse running around the middle of the seating area. The lower section closest to the field (8-10 rows) is all box seats; above the concourse, the first few rows around home plate are also considered box seats. The rest of the upper section is "reserved grandstand" seating. All seats are blue chair-back models. Six luxury boxes and the press box are located at the top of the seating bowl behind home plate. A small roof covers the luxury boxes and the top few rows of the grandstand seats.

Four tunnels allow access between the seating area and the concourse which runs underneath. This is where concessions and restrooms are located. There is also a group picnic area down the left-field line which can be rented out, as well as "Lupo's Dugout", another picnic area in right field which is sponsored by a local restaurant.

The stadium was known as simply Binghamton Municipal Stadium for its first nine years of existence, but in 2001, the naming rights were sold to the New York State Electric and Gas company, a division of Energy East.

The Mets' Bob Keppel pitched the first no-hitter in franchise history at NYSEG Stadium on August 2, 2003.

Great sight lines for watching a game or trains! Various on field entertainment in between innings to keep the fans involved at reasonable prices.
Awesome stadium! My son's team played there for the NYS American Legion Championship, so concessions weren't open. Therefore, I can't comment on concessions quality, price, etc., but the stadium itself is excellent.
we had a private sky box. the ladies that provided our group with everything we needed, they were fabulous. even though it rained.
My family and I went to see the local minor league baseball team play and the experience was great. It was my son’s first real-life baseball game and he loved it. The players were very friendly and generous with tossing game balls to kids, signing balls and cards when asked. There were plenty of kid attention grabbing activities between innings, like mascot racing, contests, etc. there’s plenty of parking, the stadium is very clean, well organized, and maintained. The tickets are very reasonable and the atmosphere is the traditional love of the game.
Pretty good place to catch a ball game! The concourse is narrow when it is crowded but the grandstand seating offers great sightlines. In-between inning shenanigans and big board shots of the crowd to keep the energy up while we support our boys could be better utilized. Fans seemed to really enjoy the food options.
Love going to the ballpark. Great that they put in the wheelchair lift. Wish the community would support them a little better, although it does seem slightly better this year.
Nice stadium. Got to check out Binghamton. No outfield seating or area.
Great ball park.Good food and staff are amazing.
New York Mets AA affiliate, with a very beautiful stadium, a family-friendly atmosphere, and the most welcoming and friendly staff I have encountered in all of my baseball trips, concessions are affordable, fireworks are the best. Within walking distance of downtown Binghamton and the Phelps Mansion museum.
Celebrated my granddaughter's birthday. She threw out the 1st pitch! Great baseball game followed by awesome fireworks! Great family fun.
