Diversity is who we are, social justice is what we do.
The NYU Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (NYU CMEP), known as The Center, offers intentional and sustained educational programs and initiatives in the area of diversity and social justice.
Through collaborations with a broad range of students, faculty, administrators and community partners the NYU Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (NYU CMEP) efforts are designed to make an institutional impact in enhancing intercultural awareness and offer compelling ways to explore the complex intersection of race, gender, religion, socio-economic class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, national origin and many other aspects of identity in our daily lives. Furthermore, NYU CMEP commits to providing academic and personal support to diverse students that fosters the highest achievement.
To accomplish these goals and develop the most effective pedagogy and curriculum in the field NYU CMEP looks to national models, research and assessment that will measure desired outcomes. NYU CMEP's work is divided into three general categories: Diversity Education and Trainings, Student Success Programming, and Cultural and Social Justice Programming.
