This is my favorite winery. I live in Vandergrift and make the drive to visit friends in the Altoona area and always stop for their blackberry wine. Even if my friends weren't around I would make the trip just for their wines. They are wonderful people with awesome products. Everyone should make a point of stopping in and trying their products
My husband got 2 bottles of Harvest Red on Dec. 20, 2022 at your mall location and both bottles upon being opened exploded. It tasted like vinegar. We will not purchase any more from here, total waste of money.
My best friend and I were in town for a weekend the 2nd week of June and had some spare time so we figured we would check them out. We went in and did a tasting and loved the wines! So much so... we each bought at least 9 bottles to take home! However, once we returned home and opened a bottle or two we realized quickly that we had been involved in a scam! Out of 19 bottles of wine bought, not one was good! They were all very vinegary. Even a 2016 Cab! Stay away!
Very surprised with the staff and winery. First off staff was welcoming and very friendly. Great customer service! The wines were all pretty to very good. Would recommend felt there was something for everyone. Will definitely try again!!!!
I was initially concerned because no one else inside of the building had a mask on their faces. I sampled the Red Caboose in store and it tasted great. I was handed a bottle to purchase. Once I went to open it I noticed the cork was disfigured. The wine had a vinegar taste to it, which appears to indicate there was some kind of fault to making or packaging it. For the price I paid, I would expect better quality.
Arrived 5 minutes before closing. Lights were turned off. As I walked in employee said,"I was just getting ready to lock up." I walked to the dark back room for wine supplies... He never turned the light on. I had to use the light from my phone to see. As I approached the counter I was told it had to be charged on my card because the register was closed out. I was told if I needed supplies the shop in the mall usually carries stock. I said that I didn't like the mall. I waited about 5 minutes for the credit machine. Wow... Could not have felt more awkward... Will shop elsewhere from now on!!! I thought hours were posted for a reason; not shortened to suit. I don't care if there wasn't a customer there all day...a sale is a sale and a customer should not feel like an inconvenience. Scott, this is Mary and Mike. After 10 years, my husband and I will never shop there again. Loyal customers should never be treated like an inconvenience. It's a shame.
We liked the wines and the tasting room was okay. The tasting was free and they had 15 wines, with additional fruit wines that you can select. I did not like any of the dry reds, but they had several wines that I did like. NOTE: Google has the wrong location for the Pleasant Valley address. Take I-99 to exit 39 and follow the signs!
Great customer service and lots of wine selections. We stayed nearby for an event and were pleasantly surprised by this shop. If you are in the area and interested is trying some wines or need brewing equipment, check this place out.
Free samples and a knowledgeable host/saleswoman.
I have been to a dozen Pa. wineries..and the catawba and the peach wine purchased here recently is possibly the worst i have ever tasted. No distinction or fruit taste between the 2...had to throw away. Both seemed somewhat oxidized with pronounced sulphite taste.Couldnt even reccommend for mouthwash.Maybe good to christen that old rowboat.Revisit your wine making process or wine storing process.ugh.
