What great impromptu stop. We saw the museum on our way to Yosemite but it had just closed. We made the stop on the way back and it was great! For the cost of a donation we were given a great casual tour. An amazing quick stop. And... The gift shop was authentic, unique and fairly priced.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
If you have never been to Oakdale, it's the "cowboy capital of the world". Don't worry the city is very modernized. Be sure to check out the the_cowboy museum when you're in town! FREE admission to this awesome tiny museum!
Very small quaint museum. Lots of neat little things to look at. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about Oakdale and everything in the museum. Very neat friendly place to visit. It is a free museum but they take donations and have a small gift shop and their gift shop is also online.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Nice little spot to come to for information if you are not familiar with that rodeo life. Was unaware that this is the cowboy capital of the world, because it has the most championship riders per capita. The woman running the museum was very friendly and answered all of our questions about cowboys and the exhibits. It's free and a very nice little gem if you are crossing through town.
Great place to learn about rodeo and cowboy history. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable about the topics.
My wife and I enjoyed this museum. The gift shop was nice. Our guide was very knowledgeable of local rodeo folks and you could tell she was proud of her community. The museum is small but hearty to the subject it tells. There is a beautiful women's trick riding saddle on display that was donated to the museum. As a nostalgia buff, I loved the old lunch boxes that were all western themed. Visit and leave a donation. This is another museum that deserves it.
Free to come in. They love their local hero’s. Helpful yet not pushy. I love the old building. They support so much in the community. Great cowboy capital museum!
Very interesting and charming museum with super knowledgeable and friendly staff!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Was a shorter tour then expected. Wish they had more items related ti our home town. Even n better.... I wish they had true stories about certain items that relate to Oakdale. It would be nice if our Oakdale museum got with our local schools, bet 70%ofb our own Locals and residents are aware of our Little museum....... Just saying
Young ladies are doing lots of work there. The future looks bright for the museum with a lot more displays. Keep up the good work!!
