I played baseball for the Oakleaf Reds. Coach Kirk and his Joel were very supportive and they pushed me to be who I am now. I'm 14 now
Nice park , alot of room. Only downside is restrooms are far away .
Excellent host. Concession stand was very friendly and someone from the host team thank us for coming out. Even thought our Little Warriors lost to the Knights, it was a good time. Thank you Oak Leaf Knights.
We were at this ballfield as an away softball team well my daughter. It is very nice park, lots of parking, and thoughtfully laid out. Finding your way to it can be a challenge the first time, but that is the road planners issue, not the parks. Everyone seemed very friendly
They have been the only park in the community for the better part of 10 years and have taken advantage of parents and kids far to long. I personally have been affiliated with this park for about 7 years as a parent and even a coach. This past baseball season I’ve had my last straw with them. Before COVID we completed I think about 3 of 11 games. Season was suspended and everyone was fine with it because we understood the magnitude of what was going on. Once the governor decided to open youth sports back up we get an email saying since we finished about half of the season they’re just going to cancel it. I’m no math expert but 3 out of 11 isn’t half. I would have been okay with cancelling the season if proper refund or credit was given. What did they decide, they decided to give every parent a $25 credit only if they sign up for the next season. The registration alone is close to $200 this doesn’t include all of the items you need to buy that kids grow out of bat, mitt, cleats, batting gloves, and helmet. We had to pay for all those additional items and those items easily cost over $200 as well. After all the cost your talking about spending upwards of $400 easily. We spent that for 3 games. Side note: there was a parent that had Once that happened we did some research and found out the parks treasurer Mr. Allen left Pop Warner and created his own league with about 6 or 7 other teams. This is a huge conflict of interest being that he is still Oakleafs treasurer. He was not transparent as to where funds were going The only coach that decided to stick around is the park’s commissioner which he handpicked and that guy had the worst record in park. Needless to say my son, daughters, nieces, nephews, and friends children will never play another minute for OSA.
City of Oakleaf has done a great job with their sports fields & complexes. The BIG miss at the baseball fields is shade. In July it was 97 degrees with a 107 heat index. We need shade. Parking is good. Walking distance to the fields is tolerable. Concessions building is OK. Bathrooms are par. The fields were in great condition for the youth players. Again, you need to think about shade and seating when putting together a community complex.
My kids have played here since we moved to oakleaf 7 years ago. There have definitely been some improvements to the fields and property. Unfortunately the cost of signing up for baseball has continued to increase well above other associations nearby. Also the cut off date to sign up has gotten crazy. Spring baseball should not be starting in January. The coaches, patents and kids are really good though.
Nice area of outer Jax but the fields are not in good shape. Especially to host a State Tournament. Field crew was working hard but it needs more help to address holes all thru the outfield and foul lines. No shade covering for spectators either.
My son play 8U baseball here
Great facility! Very clean and well maintained. Ran out of hamburgers today on our round robin : y'all would have made more money!! :
