Talk about home cooking; This is not your average food chain. This is authentic Jamaican cuisine that you will find in Boston. Every bite has a perfect mix of heat and spices that will make you tell your grind and come back for more. Check this place out!
I had my 30th birthday party here and the owner Chester was amazing. Sweet, kind and accommodating to myself and my guests. Food was delicious. Macaroni pie was delicious, they do my favorite food right! Fish cakes are spicy and delicious. Salmon was on point and had a grilled flavor while maintaining its moisture. I had a wonderful time and ALL my guests loved my food. Only bit of feedback is they keep odd hours. I wish it was mor consistent. One night after work I wanted to get a food and take some pics and measurements of the space and they were closed. I guess call before you go.
So I decided to become a customer of the restaurant. I was very please with the service and pleasantries. I had to wait 8 minutes for steam fish and rasta pasta. I was expecting only a 5 minute way. Food was good. I think that this is a hidden gem. The hours are tricky but I learn that they are now open Sunday to Saturday from 7am until about 11pm. Sundays is more like brunch....11am until 6pm...
Food was great!!! Great customer service. The owner is amazing and very kind. He end up giving me an extra piece of meat and some mac & cheese on the side, very appreciated for that I will be coming back getting food from this restaurant . Thanks to The owner and whoever does not like this restaurant can kick rocks because it’s lit ayee!!
Been here many times to eat and the food was very good. The most recent time the large plate was wayyyyy over priced came up to $16 with no sides. Our favorite dish was the stewed turkey. This time it was bland. Loved this place but now it's just too over priced. Call before you go because they are often closed.
Food is really good. Don't really know when they're open or closed...that's always a surprise lol. But when they're open, the food is a fusion of Caribbean and soul food. Menu features different items daily, but you will always find something delicious.
The quality of customer experience here was absolutely terrible. I traveled to Boston for a conference and was excited to find a Bajan restaurant, so my colleagues and I all decided to eat here on Saturday April 2017. I called beforehand on Friday to ask if they are operating, as well as to pre-order pudding and souse. The lady who answered told me to call back early Saturday morning. The next day, their phone was out of service until 11am. When I finally got through to Oasis Cafe, I managed to set my order with the gentleman who took my name and number and stated it will be ready at 1:30pm. I arrived there at 1:40pm with 3 other colleagues, they have 3 parking spots, so we had to park a 1/2 mile away excited to show them some local Bajan cuisine, to find out that 1: They actually did not take my order, 2 they were all out of pudding and souse, 3 they were all out of macaroni pie, 4 they are all out of rice and peas, and 5 although they are open until 11pm, they aren't making any more food. Along with not even trying to satisfy the customer, and mandatory staples of Barbadian food, needless to say we were all disappointed with the quality or lack of food and customer service. STAY AWAY.
Visited during the day and was less than impressed. I get the feeling this place is a completely different beast in the evening. Seems to be more set up as a lounge/event holding place. Service was lethargic and Not large by any metric. Food was just ok.
Food is great jerk chicken steam cabbage spinage mac and cheese candied sweet potatoes. My nephew treated me for my belated Christmas. They serve with a smile.
The only problem I have with this place is they are not open more often! When you have amazing things on the menu like that fry chicken, pone, sweetbread, coconut turnovers just to name a few...it is very disheartening to go back and they're closed. I happen to know the owner and some of his family. Good people!
