Absolutely loved the trails today. I had been here many years ago but was eager to refresh my memory. I took the Green Trail out .90 miles and returned on the Black Trail .93 miles. The paths are well groomed, easy to maneuver, and dog & family friendly. I look forward to exploring the other paths on future trips. Restrooms: There are portable restrooms and both parking areas. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly but pets must be leashed. Picnic area: There are picnic areas and a lodge which you can rent by the entrance of the trail head.
The trails here are so cool. You almost always see some sort of beautiful wildlife here. I love seeing people riding their horses here. Watch out for the big ol' horse poops and also big roots on the trails so you dont trip. They also have a huge soccer field, a building/area to rent out for parties, and some nice fishing spots. Also, there are port-a-potties in both parking areas just in case "nature" calls. I think Oatka is a great place to hike with multiple trails. Our dogs love it here too!
Love this park. Great options to enjoy this place year round. The parking lot closest to the lodge has accessible parking spaces. The lodge appears to be accessible. Didn’t go inside, but it’s a one story structure. The one time that I was there saw lots of people with dogs, people riding horses and a fisherman. Mostly flat trails. A few small spots with elevation. It was a lovely Sunday in May. So didn’t experience a lot of bugs or boggy wet trails.
Love this little park a great place to ride. Trails could be trimmed up a little higher. I have a short horse, taller horses might not fit on some of these trails unless your fine with dismounting every once in a while. You will definitely see a lot of wildlife on your ride.
Pretty cool place. We found some abandoned cars and some type of building that was knocked down. The rock inside of a tree was cool to see. Paths are easy to walk. It was raining but we still walked and we barely got wet because of the tree coverage. You could hear it pouring it was peaceful. Definitely going to make this one of my regular spots to visit.
Really enjoyed hiking the trails here! Spent 3hrs & hiked all the trails, about 5.5 miles! Our favorites were black, yellow & red. Black took you back into the woods which we really enjoyed! Red & Yellow took you along the creek which was really nice! Another part of the yellow was more challenging but saw an abundance of deer!
The park is large with over 5 miles of trails and tons of geocaching locations. Very interesting geographic diversity throughout the park, and I highly recommend breaking off the trail once in a while, a lot of little hidden points of interest.
Always a great park. Used to cross-country ski here as a kid, now I am back with my kids, enjoying the creek and long tree lined paths with them and the dogs.
Easy to moderate trails. Clearly marked. Water access on one trail. Trails are well kept. There are horses allowed and dogs so watch your step. Restrooms: There is a lodge which has bathrooms . Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs are allowed.
Very well maintained county park with plenty of trails to suit all skill levels. Trails along the creek are interesting with places to hang out and watch the water.
