Great place. Several trees which is nice on got days. The lady in office Dusti is AWESOME! They try to have a family movie night every Friday night. They also try to do other little events for the campers on occasional holidays/weekends. Laundry is 75 cents per load. It is next to NAS Oceana so there is jet noise sound of freedom occasionally. Not sure why people on here book a site next to a Master Jet Base then complain about the jet noise.... Anyway, we like it here and will be coming back.
Great place to stay for military pesonel. The staff is so sweet and helpful.
We have only been using our camper for about two years now so this review may be somewhat biased. Have stayed at several civilian run campgrounds which were nice but they are all stuffed tight to the point that some campers with awnings and sliders won't fit. That won't be a problem at any of these sites. They do have Wifi but it is very weak and non existent in some spots. All the sites that we have stayed at were level and hook ups close by. Yes there are many active military that live here and have to relocate every 30 days rediculous. Most of these people are friendly and very helpful with setting up your camper or pointing out places to go for good eats or recreation. Even with several home steading campers there is usually an open spot as long as you plan ahead. The office, rest room, laundry is kept clean. The laundry machines do have their issues as most of them are out of order which I believe is due to age. They do try to keep them up but you can only do so much for 20 year old machines. There is only one person Amanda that is in the office from 10am to 4pm. That same person also makes regular rounds in the campgrounds. I think she does a wonderful job considering all her responsibilities. I have been in the office when three people were checking in and the phone ringing then someone comes in complaining they are having a hard time hooking up their camper. It's amazing she still has any hair left. Although this RV sight comes under MWR they do not get much financial assistance from them. The office manager has on her own set up a monthly pot luck which most of the campers participate in and she has a movie at the end. She also has set up easter egg hunts for the children. There is a 5 MPH speed limit which is strictly monitored by the manager AND residents, there are several young children in the park. Just remember this is not your luxury resort campground, No pool, No cable tv, No lake or pond, No real Wifi, or camp store but it is quiet except for the random sound of freedom and clean spacious sites. Also you are only paying 25$ and day for FHU for which can't be beat.
The park itself is fine. One of the managers is a "Karen". She believed we were speeding. We said okay. Instead of dropping it, she decided to escalate things by pounding on our door the next day demanding we sign paperwork, which we did at check in already. Also said we couldn't park our car trailer in the park however she gave permission for us to park it in front of our space when we checked in. So, what started as alleged speeding one evening escalated the following day. She isn't playing with a full deck.
This place is horrible. The bathrooms don’t have locks so anyone can go into them while people are showering. Which has happened. The laundry machines never work and always out of order and are dirty. The lights in the park do not work half the time, so it’s very dark. The MWR staff and managers are horrible except for Mellissa, she is very nice. They are never there and never answer phones or call you back. The camp host never helps people when they arrive past the office hours, which are only 1000-1400. They lie about this place and sea mist have to follow the same rules and they don’t. They make you move every 30 days hoping people will leave. They don’t take care of the area so your RV will get messed up when driving around because the tree limbs are so low. Half the trees are dead, but they won’t cut them down so there is a possibility that a tree will fall. Many people don’t walk their dogs on a leash around the park. Do not stay here find a better military Rv park. Little creek and FT Story are cleaner and better. Do not stay here. Not worth it. You can find better somewhere else.
It's a nice camp ground very reasonable but that's all. They provide full hook up but no laundry facility or swimming pool. Ok for short stay but that's about it, again extremely reasonable price per night especially if your retired military...
Office hours are 1000-1400. I've attempted to contact this office by phone 3 times to schedule a site, leaving voice-mail each time with no callback. I drove to the office today and arrived at 1340, but they were closed and the phone went to voicemail. Even the emergency line went to voice-mail! I expect more responsiveness with MWR, but if this is indicative of their service, I would rather pay a little more in town with better service.
This RV lot is wonderful! Great laundry price, well maintained facility, family friendly, great for jogging, pet friendly, well located, fenced and gated, and much more! Unless you don't like the sound of freedom flying by, this place is great!
We had a variety of places to choose from, none had any shade but we had our pick. The temp office staff even helped avert getting our truck stuck in a super soft area that we didn't know existed. Our neighbor really kinda stunk but that is NO reflection on the park. You just can't pick your neighbors, she hates dogs. Every other dog lover was great!!!
Great rv park, i wish i discovered it sooner. It's gated with great rates, nice and clean. A big park to for pets to run in. Overall very clean, well maintained and a nice office, laundry room and bath house. The lady that works the front desk is amazing too!
