Ocshner Main Campus

I have not been here in a while but looks like their has been an upgrade. You no longer have to worry about finding food after the cafeteria closes. They have these self checkout area of hospital that is open 24 hrs. They now even have a Ochsner children area in the hospital. I guess Children's Hospital was getting over crowded and now their are other options in the City. The children waiting area is stylized very cute with stars on the ceiling and a mini fish tank. I'd be happy to visit any patient staying here.

I drove hours for my son heart procedure and went I arrived my room was booked and ready for sleep because we were very tired. The nurse called and told me when to come and what floor to go to we was already checked in and there was no waiting time. They looked after my son from time we arrived til we departed. The nurses was very nice and sweet they all came and introduced themselves and told what they would do for my son. They did not leave his side they kept my son very comfortable and I didn’t have to do anything. I would recommend Ochsner Medical Center to any and everyone who ask. I wish they was near me they would definitely be my family primary care providers with no questions asked. We have to travel back for another heart surgery and I am satisfied because I know my visit will be comfortable! Thank you Ochsner team you guys made our experience wonderful!!

I have been going to a Ochsner for years. Almost all of my doctors are from Ochsner. They work together. All of my doctors are amazing. I love using the portal. I have contact with my doctors at any time. I can only think of a few occasions where I had a problem at Ochsner. The pharmacy is amazing. They do my pill packs, and all of Ochsner employees are pretty much kind, well knowledge, great bedside manner, and you can tell that they truly care about your treatment. They are very thorough. They give the best treatment that I’ve ever had and any kind of healthcare.

First of all, I wanna make it very clear that this has nothing to do with the people or persons who cared for me while I was undergoing tests and scheduling at this hospital. Mine is more of the operational side, having just suffered a stroke… You would think, that the medical professionals themselves, the doctors and the people in charge would be as concerned, as I am to ensure that I would get the next steps in proper testing for the things I need to stop some of the symptoms and or Afflictions that I am now experiencing because of what has transpired. But I’m being told that I have to wait in some cases two months for additional testing for what has just recently happened to me. This means that I still have to suffer with the dizziness, the dysfunction of my body, and many of the other things that I’m undergoing… Which is the main reason why I came in for testing in the first place, to discover the stroke… It seems, like every recording on the phone, talks about the continuation of my expert care, the concern and support that this hospital wants to give me, but then there is no urgency in scheduling me to get the diagnosis is I need to overcome these symptoms. In the meantime, I’m still working, driving and living my life Under extreme cautions and duress, because I still don’t have answers to these questions. It seems very unsafe and unprofessional that they would not make every effort to continue the treatment that I started and come to a conclusion for my care, rather than tell me my next appointment won’t be until 31 October, which is well over two months away. In the meantime I deal with the repercussions of the stroke every day.

Received a liver transplant from Ochsner over 5 years ago. Recommend them to everyone I encounter about my story. There doctors and nurses operate like well oiled machine. They are very kind but most importantly very honest. Their post transplant recovery apartments are Genius.

Round of applause for the nurses in the cardiology unit. Best nurses I’ve ever seen. Not just saving lives, but helping patients thrive through kindness and compassion. Can never thank them enough for their genuinely amazing care.

From the very start, we knew this was a different kind of hospital experience. The surgeons, Dr. Bolton, Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Benito and I’m sure a host of other medical professionals in the operating room were nothing less than top notch. You can tell that these doctors and surgeons are in the medical profession because it is their passion.. These doctors truly know and practice their trade and craft. Once we got to the 10th floor GISSU unit we were absolutely enveloped by the staff nurses, caregivers, techs and a host of other professionals. A special thanks to Chase, Ahlecia, LaSaundra, Cheryl, Deja, Dr Talton and all the others that popped in during the day and night to check vitals, pain level and general well-being. I would recommend this hospital and team of caregivers to anyone.

Went to visit a family member today! This hospital is horrible. My family member hasn’t had a bed change, room cleaned, or a bath from staff. From working in a hospital, their staff and communication is bad. We assisted with bathing and new bedding for my family. Had to ask for linens since they never checked or asked if they needed any. When I called for assistance, took them like 5 minutes before they answered, and even longer before the nurse came in. Very disappointed in the staff. They seemed bothered if we called them. Coming from working in a hospital, I always made sure my patients were taken care of. The staff told my male cousin he can assist his mother with a shower. It’s the staffs job, my aunt had a stroke and is limited to how she can do things now, my cousin don’t want to see his mother naked. I thought this hospital was better than this!!!

Update:I emailed the email below over a week ago and still have not gotten a response, they don't care about you they only responded to make it seem like they care. I brought my son to the ER for an eval, really I was just hoping to be referred to a pediatric psychiatrist, the doctor Dr Awad, spoke with him for about 3 and a half minutes then said he needs to be put on a 72 hour hold. Okay, then they decided to send him off some place over an hour away which has horrible reviews and I keep hearing awful things and there isn't a thing I can do but pray I can bring him home soon. I just hope someone reads this and takes my advice, DO NOT take your child here for a psych eval, they really dont care they just want to ship them off. I saw another child there and her mother was having a hard time too with these doctors and nurses, way too many people working there yet no one can answer simple questions, also we spent about 8 hours just waiting. It's insane. Please don't go here if you don't absolutely have to. It's been a nightmare and I'm still waiting to pick my son up from this awful place ochsner sent him to. Nothing but 2 star reviews, a lot about abuse and neglect and ochsner sent my kid here anyway.

Dr. Sarah and Dr. Celestre are great. They worked together to get me feeling great again. I highly recommend them if you are in need of Orthopedic services for your neck/shoulder and back. I am pain free and got my life back. Thank you so much
