Scottish American Society of Dunedin Inc.
The society was established in 1979 and since then we have been committed to supporting the Dunedin Middle and High School Pipe Bands, in addition to the Dunedin Pipe Bands, this support provides a safe and educational path to pursue the love of the Scottish Arts.
Many of our more than 160 members hail from the British Isles adding their knowledge of the customs and traditions we all enjoy.
What We Do
General Meetings are held Nov. through April, every 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
Friday Night Socials, also called Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-lee).
Tartan Nights, during which members and their guests are encouraged to wear traditional kilts and Scottish attire, are held on the 1st Friday of each month during the season.
Each year, the Scottish American Society offers a scholarship to a deserving High School student in addition to special awards presented to winners of the Highland Dance Competition and Robert Burns Essay Contest.
Preserve, teach and honor the culture and traditions of Scotland through many social activities, charitable gifts, programs and special events.
The Scottish American Society of Dunedin welcomes all those who wish to contribute their time and effort to help make our community a better place in which to live and work.
