Total awesome place!!! Plenty of fun for singles, couples, families and even seniors!!! And it’s affordable to everyone!!! Free Parking: lots; especially handicapped; but like any large event the earlier will always be the better; less of a walk to the entrance It’s lots of acres of grass to park on and FREE Easy in and out of this great entertainment center Safety: no fears for anyone; people just come to enjoy; didn’t hear any foul language or see any undesirable things. Just happy people, happy couples and really happy families Tickets: buy online even military or senior; the $1 savings to purchase tickets not worth the wait in line then the wait in entrance lines Entrance lines: the earlier the better. They open at 10.30am not sooner. Ticket line opens at 10am By 10.30 the lines were very long BUT once the gates opened it moves very quickly! Affordable: I think this is not bad. It’s cheaper than Kings Island or Disney and comparable to state fairs. There are lots of craft vendors and those, like any other place may get pricey. BUT, keep in mind their unique items are dedicated to making this renaissance festival the very best!!! Food: lots of choices; and yes some may think pricey BUT, once again, keep in mind its priced like state or local fair events. I tried five choices and four of five tasted great. Portions may seem smaller for the cost but just go with the flow and enjoy the moments! Look at those purchasing and you can see what’s served before deciding. I cost it out to an average of $25 a person for a protein, side and non alcoholic beverage Pop, Gatorade $3 or two for $5 Beer $7 Corn on cob $5 Fish and chips $12-$15; not the best Burgers $16 and Garden of Eaten is awesome!!! Fries: $10 Crepes: $16 That was just a small sample of so much available! It’s really not that bad so enjoy the moments!!! Not the cost ALL the vendors are very friendly and polite!!! Food cooked to order Before 12.30pm lines pretty small or no lines at all BUT, after 2-3 hours of events then food lines can get long BUT move pretty quickly. I didn’t see anyone waiting “one hour for food.” I think with crowded food lines you may wait about 30 minutes at best ATMs: plenty and all around the area events At 4.00pm I did not see one sign on an ATM that said “out of order; $ Most vendors accept cash or card and those vendor credit cards seemed to work just fine Events: the stages are all over so my suggestion is get the free map and plan what events you want to see and times so you can see many, enjoy and eat All free!!! Some ask for donations afterwards and the average is $5 donation REMEMBER: the events are FREE and these are just entertainers bringing happiness to all of us on weekends; three shows; lots prep and work; hot costumes and doing their best to bring Las Vegas type events to this great Ohio festival !!! Worth a $5 donation!!! Event grounds: all the paths are on crushed gravel so that can wear on your feet BUT you can always walk on the softer grass areas Mobile scooters seem to work on the gravel Hand wheelchairs may require partner help on that gravel Souvenir shop: plenty and I’d say prices are just typical of like places Well that’s my quick summary I didn’t plan the events available my first ever visit so I going back next weekend This was a great opening day!!! And so many people put so much in costumes and they were all fantastic!!! Every lady was nothing less then elegant !!! Guys or couples treated their partners with total respect Families look so happy! My observations for opening day Enjoy This place is about happiness!!! When you are through the gates anything bothering you quickly goes away!!!
I can NOT speak more highly of this wonderfully magical place. I’ve been going to this renaissance festival since I was a very little girl and have been in love with the magic it provides I was lucky enough to marry the great love of my life here at a steal!!! I was able to combine my special day with the magic I have known for 20+ years for an amazing price! They went above and beyond to make us feel special! Please consider this the start of your happily ever after or just a fun tradition for the kids. I know I have both as a special place in my heart
We visited four major Renaissance Festivals last year Pennsylvania, Maryland, Carolina and Ohio and Ohio was by far the worst operated of them. Massive crowds that the festival has no idea how to handle. - Parking was a mess, with a parking layout that made no sense, including parking some vehicles almost right in front of the gate where the line to get in forms. - Ticketing and gate entry was very slow was surprised they even had onsite ticketing, but then again their online ticketing was also very clumsy. They need it fix their online ticketing and go online only, with limited tickets sales per weekend, as the other festivals have done. - Lines for food were up to an hour, everywhere, and then if you wanted drinks that was a separate line. Cash only food sales would solve a lot of problems as their credit card POS kept failing, holding everything up. The food, when you got it, was just OK. A few more roving vendors could help this as well. - Special event sales, such as the adult only show, should be at the front gate, it was very difficult to find where to purchase those tickets as it was at a small booth at the back of the fair. Was there good? Yes, there was. The acts we saw were very good, and all around the cast of the festival was fantastic. There are also some very good vendors and crafts, but also a lot of highly marked up commercial products. The festival layout and atmosphere was also well done, the fair is laid in a large circle with several cut throughs, navigation is fairly easy once you knew where you were going, and it still had some mystery to it. Overall I would wait until they did something to limit the crowds before returning.
Absolutely love the Ren Fest! There's so much to do and see that having a season pass is incredibly worth it. I suggest arriving as early as possible to avoid the bigger crowds and longer lines, but don't let that worry you, you'll have an incredible time!
We had an amazing time. There are so many different events and there's always something to do. Did not have one dull moment. I can't wait to go back.
A fun place to get crafts, costumes, food and drink. The shows are pretty cool too. Kids loved the wheel of death. It’s a little crowded, but well organized. Parking is free and there are plenty of room.
My first faire ever. It was fun and entertaining. Disappointed that over 2 days I didn't see the queen or much strolling entertainment out and about. Online ticket purchase was weird the dollar amount I was charged was higher than 2 tickets with no explanation why. I really wanted the experience so i bought anyway. Otherwise everything was top notch. Parking was particularly awesome! Wheel of death was INCREDIBLE and the wenches awailing AMAZING and the high flying fools moving benches so audience could be in the shade
Wonderful place to visit! Bring the kids for a great time, or leave them behind and bring your drinking buddies for an equally delightful experience! Artisans with unique and beautiful crafts, authentic competitive jousting, sword flights with sharp steel, stunts with real fire, and a spectacular cast of fairies and villagers to interact with! GET KNIGHTED BY THE QUEEN!!!
It was really cool to dress up and see everyone's amazing costumes. Funny and entertaining magic and comedy shows. Plenty of food and tons of shops with inexpensive trinkets and food everywhere. There's plenty of sword shops. There's even a house of doom
It just is not for me. Went last year for the first time, it was OK. My 13 year old granddaughter loves it and asked me to go with yesterday. I did because it was my granddaughter, but now I've seen it, done it and I'm done. Will not be going back. The 1 thing that I was looking forward too the sweet cream cheese stuffed pretzel was no where to be found. Very disappointed .
