OkHIMA is a component state association (CSA) of AHIMA.
Pronounced O-key-ma (like our city Okemah) we are a dynamic professional association which includes more than 740 specially educated health information management professionals and college students working throughout Oklahoma.
OkHIMA members hold many diverse roles in the healthcare industry. We serve an important role within our healthcare facilities regarding the planning and implementation phases of electronic health records. We are also specialists in managing health information, administering information systems, analyzing information for decision support, coordinating healthcare privacy and compliance programs, preparing facilities and data for accreditation surveys, compliance with standards and regulations regarding health information, and coding and classifying information for reimbursement and research.
Posting Rules: This Facebook Page was created by the OkHIMA Board and is dedicated to Oklahoma HIM Professionals. It is a way for the OkHIMA Board to communicate with members and vice versa. Members may post to the timeline but the Admins will screen the posts for appropriateness. Job Openings may be posted by Members Only. Non-OkHIMA educational offerings may be promoted if free to anyone. All other forms of education or vendor promotion will be reviewed by the Admin for approval. If the Admin finds the post to be inappropriate, it will be deleted or rejected.
