It’s excellent library…place is clean and super silent. Staff is friendly and helpful. You will get tons of books available here with almost every languages. Parking lot is also large and have tennis courts to get refreshed.
I recently became a member of this library when I noticed the interesting and worthwhile events they were posting on the Meetup website. After attending the events, I decided I would join the library. FYI, I live in Monmouth County however I will gladly pay the $75.00 annual fee to be a member of OBPL, which also gives you access to many other libraries and institutions affiliated with OBPL. The library is warm and appealing. The staff is wonderful, thoughtful, and responsive. I made the right choice.
Awesome place for toddlers to discover, play and make friends. Baby story time was sadly a bit crowded. Hopefully soon they can do it twice a week. Looking forward to Baby Dance Party!!
I'm reading through some of the reviews here and I just have to say something. Do any of you realize these folks are operating on a shoestring budget? Library staffing is down well over 70% from the mid nineties. There are probably three people trying to handle: * All of the homeless and unhoused and cold or hot people you never see there are a lot of them * Uninterrupted flows of miscreant and wayward teens, tweens, and other nightmares who have nothing better to do other than avoid their homes * A huge responsibility to stock the books you MIGHT want IF you decide to, along with an insurmountable task of wrangling the ones they have. This is referring both to returns and orders * Never-ending events; field-trips, expos, book fairs, donations, after-school programs, family support offerings in tandem with social services and even dealing with a large population of recently released previously incarcerated people I haven't even spoken about what these highly qualified professionals actually do in terms of the job they were hired for. That aspect alone is a 2 x FullTimeJob If you look at what library science is, you would be amazed at how rad it is. Libraries are the hub of MANY peoples social, work, and intellectual life. The people working there are doing the job of four or five, maybe seven people. They do it because they care, they know what they do matters, and they are not willing to turn their backs on the communities that rely on them, even if you had to wait for a while or the HUMAN PERSON asked you a question you assumed was out of malice. Maybe, Passport People in Another Post, you might consider she asked that because if you have an appointment, a lot of your information is in the Computer Machine, or else if you just showed up because they were open without bothering to make an appointment, she would have to dash over to the filing cabinet to get you started on filling out forms with a pen and paper, before she patiently and calmly walked you through how to fill out the forms. And then told you what to expect, and answered all of your questions. She didn't go home that night to write a nasty review of you as a customer - she told her little daughter about how she helped a family get their passports so the can go on an adventure, and she never thought of you again, or your pointless and limp 'review' of a PUBLIC SERVICE. If you cared about this, instead of writing a shitpost review, you could talk, vote, and find out where you tax dollars are going. DO SOMETHING other than spread hate. Please.
I’ve already renewed passport here. Nice and simple. Very friendly and great for family.
Beautiful library. Always clean and regularly updated. There are always good programs offered to the public. There is also a nice children's section with great programs for kids. There are fax and copy services available and also a Notary service which is free for current library card holders. Study rooms can also be reserved. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is a very nice facility in Old Bridge Township!
This review is for Old Bridge Library Passport Office: To be honest, we expected the long wait and useless pencil pushers as it happened before in other places, We were pleasantly surprised at the efficiency and work quality of the passport office people. We were in and out in 10 min, and all our passport paperwork was efficiently reviewed and our pic was efficiently taken. Well worth our visit to this location!! Why cant other municipal departments at Old Bridge Township hire similar quality people???
We were at the Passport section of Old Bridge Library today, 11/06/22. We had a 12:30 appointment and were 10minutes early, yet the Lady who was there made us feel like we shouldn’t be there at all. We said hi to which the response was, “Do you have an appointment?” We understand it is a Sunday and the job is to attend to people and in our case, a family who came to renew their teenager’s passport. If you don’t like your job, just quit instead of being rude and unprofessional with your clients. The lady on our way out who works In the Library section was nice and even said hi to us. Thank you.
Convenient place to apply for a passport. Great employees were very helpful.
A good library that used to be great before the pandemic shut it down. They never reopened the Idea Farm which was such a cool offering, it took them a long time to start offering programs for kids and adults, and the board of directors could care less. Very disappointing but the staff is lovely.
