A little "hidden gem" spot. So much history. The little rum.girls.grave is awesome. Nicely marked numbers on the Graves of interest. Lots of well thought of folks buried here. Good energyVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
The Old Burying Ground of Beaufort is a hidden gem that I highly recommend visiting. It is free to enter and of course a cemetery so please, be respectful. If you enter from Ann St. there are pamphlets that will give you history of some of the most interesting graves. The boat captain who wanted to be buried with his cannon, rum barrel girl, the British naval officer who wanted to be buried standing up and more! I don’t know that I have ever been across a cemetery quite like this. Worth a stop.
The first place we visited in Beaufort. It's a beautiful old graveyard. Be sure to grab a pamphlet at the front gate, there are a lot of good stories to learn about.
The old burying ground is a historic and beautiful place located in downtown Beaufort. I would recommend visiting!
If you enter the gate from Ann Steeet there were pamphlets. Be sure to grab one. There is lots of information and highlights sites with history to visit. We went in September, so make sure to take bug spray! The burial ground was very neat to experience. Make sure to go the Ghost tour! They bring you by for a visit also!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Very cool cemetery. Many of the graves are numbered so you can read about them online. Look up the cemetery and download the pdf.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree

Very interesting! Self guided tour with a numbered brochure gives interesting facts as it leads you through the cemetery. The trees are beautiful and create a calm, peaceful atmosphere. Beware of the mosquitos!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
The QR code did not work and they were out of paper maps. I downloaded the pdf from my phone AND THIS IS A MUST. The history was very nice to read. Reading about all of the people and having a map of the cemetery is very helpful.
Amazing place the amount of history is just awesome. I highly recommend this place
