Description

Old Carolina Barbecue Company is a tribute to the roadside shacks found throughout the Carolinas.

"The first Old Carolina Restaurant opened in Massillon, Ohio in 2006, seven years after the dream first began to take shape. Today, the dream has developed into 10 restaurants in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The most important thing they learned along the journey? Never take shortcuts. Old Carolina slow-smokes its meats on-site all night, every night and are committed to producing authentic, southern barbecue, served with genuine hospitality every day."

Loved the chicken and brisket as it was very moist and tender .I didn’t care for the macaroni or baked beans but the cornbread and butter was delicious. The fries and hush puppies are good as well. Nice employees and very clean inside.
Warning this place is just overpriced. The food is completely dry. They rely on sauce only to try to help and it doesn’t even help. If anyone tells you, this is a good barbecue, smack them in the face. I wouldn’t even want to feed this to my dog. The only thing that was halfway decent was the pulled pork. Quality of meat was horrible. Seems like they give me a six month old ribs
Coming from the south and had decent barbecue we were pleasantly impressed with this place! Everything was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend the pulled pork and ribs. The honey vanilla butter and cornbread was such a nice combo. We will be back to this gem soon!Food: 5/5
There is nothing more obnoxious than fries that are not fully cooked. They looked good but they are not cooked! The rest of the food was okay, pulled pork really good but I hate half cooked starchy hard fries! Also, the lady who handed me my container was running her nose a lot. It’s a pandemic, stop touching your nose and peoples food.
My honest review. Food was just okay at this particular location. I orders a platter that included ribs, pulled pork ,3 chicken wings pulled chicken, and brisket with 2 side dishes. First off.... the brisket was extremely dry the pulled pork was cold. The ribs were really good and the wings are outstanding i substituted the pulled chicken for 3 more wings but I originally wanted to substitute the pulled chicken for a leg quarter and i was even willing to pay any additional upcharge but they acted as if it was an issues to do this. The mac and cheese was really cold not warm at all and that baked beans was hot and warm. If I had to do it all over again I would probably just drive to the canton location never had an issue with that location.
I had my daughter's grad party catered and it was a great experience. Kelsey was so helpful!! The process was easy and the food was amazing!!! Lots of happy guests at the party.Food: 5/5
Very hospitable, spoke with the young lady who took my order and had informed me over the phone prior to my visit about what was available, pricing and etc. I'm from NC, and lived there a majority of my life. Grew up with the best BBQ makers in the world and with a name like "Old Carolina" I was expecting at least something comparable. It was spectacular, the smell in the air of the restaurant was an amazing addition to the atmosphere of the establishment and the friendly demeanor of the employees really helped. On to the food, I ordered for $14 a two meat plate, which I chose baked beans, Mac'n cheese, and they give a side of cornbread. The meat was pulled pork. It's served dry and they have a "Sauce bar" where you can choose your own sauce. I am from the Piedmont so once I saw there was a sauce claiming the name I had to try it. I was not disappointed in the slightest, the meat was cooked very well, you can really tell they took effort into the process of a 12 hour smoke, the sauce tasted like home. I've lived in OH for 2 years now and can faithfully say this was the best $14 I've spent in my time in OH on food so far. I would highly recommend if you want some good NC style BBQ to give this restaurant a shot. I forgot to take a picture of my meal beforehand but couldn't help myself from digging right in.
Good, authentic BBQ. Mac and cheese is amazing, breading and spices on it are good, adds sweet to the savory of the Mac and cheese. They sell a decent variety of drinks ranging from sweet tea to their in my opinion main drink, Cheerwinesoft drink. If you want to bring a little bit of old Carolina home with you, you can also buy some BBQ saucesold upfront.
Great tasting smoked pulled pork, creamy cole slaw, baked beans and Hawaiian Sweet buns. First we tried this Old Carolina BBQ. We celebrated their 20th anniversary on August 20th! Parking: Clean parking.
Fast friendly even with pick up order they took the time to say hi. The food was wonderful as usual from Old Carolina Food: 5/5
