The Old El Paso County Jail Museum is located in the San Elizario Historic District. The interpretive heritage museum features various exhibits relative to the specific aspect of the Texas State Historic Site. The San Elizario Genealogy and Historical Society operates the museum and it is open
daily, Tuesday through Sunday, to the general public and admission is free. The museum is staffed by knowledgeable volunteers that offer additional information to visitors. The Pistoleros de San Elizario Reenactment troupe performs two free shows of the 'Billy the Kid Breakout' every third Sunday of the month, March through November, in front of the Jail.
