The service was outstanding. We had kielbasa and sauerkraut and it tasted just like my German Mom used to make. A warm and inviting atmosphere greeted us as well as the proprietor. He showed us to the table and delivered fresh baked warm bread. The meal came out quickly and was hot and delicious. I will go back with my whole family and Jenny next
Had a fish dinner. it was awesome. Can’t wait for Thanksgiving buffet. It’s the best 23.95 you will spend.
There's no place like it. I love it here! Schedule your tour it's worth the 15 bucks if u like history
I wanted to try this place out for my birthday because I thought it would be cool inside. My friend was waiting for me in the parking lot and while she was sitting there with me on speaker phone the "owner" walked up to her car to tell her that it was private property. She explained that she was waiting for me so we could go in. He then told her about how they've been being cased by people who want to break in. I highly doubt anyone would want anything they have, which probably isn't much since they like to chase off paying customers. We ended up down the street at River Rock. I wouldn't waste your time attempting to give business to rude people.
After years of wondering what this place was I finally got the opportunity to stop in for a drink. Everyone is extremely friendly. Not for yuppies. Thanks for the service and good convo.
This was a place a friend and I really wanted to just go in to have a drink and see what it was like. We finally decided to meet there. I drove up and was sitting in parking lot waiting for my friend. A man standing outside smoking kept staring at me. He walked over and verbally accosted me . He said he was an owner and proceeded to tell me way more information about him then I would want to know. He was rude and I will say if he was truly the owner, then I completely understand why no one is ever there! He was rambling on about some women that was there earlier and that people are trying to rob him. He's a real nut... so I said ooookay I'll have a drink elsewhere... which seemed to appeal to him and I left. Stay away from this place full of crazies!!!
I arrived 10 minutes before opening and parked to wait for my family to arrive so that we could eat here together. A few minutes passed and a man approached my car and tapped on the window. He told me he owned the parking lot he specifically said parking lot and that I needed to leave. I told him I was waiting for my family and we were planning to eat at the restaurant. He said the restaurant wasn't open and I needed to leave. I asked if the restaurant opened in 10 minutes now technically 7 minutes as I looked at the clock and he said yes, it's not open yet, I need to leave. Completely confused I asked if I could wait here for 7 minutes until it opened. He said no, I needed to leave. So I left and we ate somewhere else! Do not go here unless you want to be told to leave!
So glad that we stopped here! We’ve driven by many times, and have wanted to see what this place was like. Great hospitality, very friendly people, the food was absolutely amazing, and the historical building in its own; was a great experience! My family loves this restaurant now! Thank you Old House Inn, we cannot wait until our next visit.
Had some doubts about eating here at first. But the food was delicious. Portions were large even for the kids made them extra so they could take to school for lunch tomorrow , food was fresh and delicious. The service was exceptional family owned and run since 70's i believe. The building is beautiful and was historically part of the underground railroad. The whole experience was like dining 30 years ago at a place that cares about their customers....probably since they have been opened that long and still hold onto their believes that it's not about the$ but more about the customer.
This place was amazing! Jody and his mom are personable and friendly. Took very good care of us and cooked everything himself. Highly recommend the French onion soup! Can’t wait to go back and try something else on the menu!
