A student-led small business at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN dedicated to promoting practical sustainability on college campuses and establishing responsible consumerism as a lifelong practice.
The Ole Thrift Shop is a small business in Northfield, Minnesota run by a group of students at St. Olaf College. We collect clothing, books, electronics, furniture, and appliances at the end of every school year in an effort to reduce waste in our community.
At St. Olaf College, we host three sales per year. The proceeds of these sales are used to both help the business, and help students through our sustainability grant program.
With this project, we hope to find new homes for all previously unwanted items. Devoted to upholding high environmental standards and promoting practical sustainability on college campuses, our goal is to divert "waste" from landfills while providing an easy way for college students to save money outfitting their dorms. As they say, one student's trash is another student's treasure.
