Came here for our one-year anniversary, could not have had a better experience! Definitely book in advance, although check on the day-of for openings if you want to move your reservation by calling. Staff were super friendly and accommodating, requested to sit outside and they made it work! Food is incredible, good vegetarian options. Portion sizes are small, so keep that in mind. Overall, a necessary spot to eat at if you live in Boston/Cambridge! Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian selections but small portions.
An amazing culinary experience! The food was incredibly creative, the combinations of flavors and textures was brilliant, the presentation was impeccable while still being inviting, and most of all, everything was delicious. What a great experience of modern Mediterranean dishes. Anytime I’m traveling for work or vacation, having great food is a big part of my enjoyment, but I don’t have the same satisfaction when I eat alone. This was an exception thanks to the casual atmosphere and the friendly staff who clearly know the menu well. I sat and ate at the bar, and the bartender made me feel like I was having a meal with a friend while also offering great advice on what and how much to order. I will certainly be back, and will bring friends and colleagues with me!
Special, hard to find dishes. I enjoyed the Sultan's Delight which includes very tender beef. The $30 trout large plate was nicely executed with great flavors, but it arrived 15 minutes before the swordfish appetizer even though the appetizer had been ordered about 20 minutes before the main entree. There are 6% mandatory fees. Minimum expected tip is 20% which is calculated based on the total after the mandatory fees. 26% fees expected. Of course, there is the 7% meal tax. Thanks, Eileen from Brooklyn for the food suggestions.
Oleana is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. Every dish is bursting with flavor and very creative. The waitstaff is always super nice and helpful, and while it may seem expensive, I think it's quite reasonable for what you get especially when compared to other places in the area. We ALWAYS order the topik, fatteh, and sultans delight, but everything I've ever had here has been delicious. I couldn't speak more highly of Oleana - definitely go here! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. At least 50% of the menu is vegetarian or can be made vegetarian.
Awesome experience at Oleana as expected! Food was superb - unique options and flavors. Definitely recommend the sultan’s delight & the warm buttered hummus was great, too. The service and atmosphere was warm and comforting, yet lively. Can’t wait to come back!Food: 5/5
In addition to the dishes pictured we also had the fatteh and the zaatar bread. The bread was very good but I think if we went back we would try a different cold meze. The fatteh, as others have noted, was very very good. The two dishes I really order again and again are fatteh and sultans delight. Very tasty and perfectly sized.
The outside looks like an unassuming house but the inside had an upscale casual vibe. We didn’t have reservation but got a table right away. The food at Oleana was amazing! We had the quail kebob hot meze, which was packed with good amount of spice kick; grilled trout, which was nicely done with crispy skin and notes of olive oil; and also lemon chicken, which was tender and flavourful. The highlight was the baked alaska, with passion fruit coulis and coconut base which was just perfect
Every single dish I tried was absolutely delicious. This included the whipped feta, carrot salad, kale and broccoli, potatoes and crab kibbeh. The food is served tapas style and comes out as it’s ready. We ordered 5 mezzo dishes for two people and it was plenty. Our waitress was very kind and brought us a free dessert when she learned we were celebrating both an engagement and a birthday!
It had been about 15 years since we had eaten at Oleana, and it was even better than we remembered. As vegetarians, it was fantastic to have so many great choices. Not to mention, six different absolutely amazing sounding desserts! We could only try two. The service was great, attentive but unobtrusive. We mentioned while chatting at the beginning of the meal that it was our anniversary, and they independently put a candle in our dessert. Vegetarian options: There are so many fantastic vegetarian options. About three-quarters of the hot-and-cold meze are vegetarian. Only one of the large plates is vegetarian, but the meze are the star at Oleana anyway. We were spoiled for choices.
Absolutely loved eating here, every dish we ate was incredibly tasty and most were like nothing we’d tried before. I’d highly recommend the Lamb & Egglant Moussaka, and the Topik. The drinks menu was comprehensive and tasty for both wine and cocktails. On one or two occasions service was slow enough between drinks or courses that I wondered had we been forgotten, but we weren’t in an rush and it really didn’t have a negative impact on our dinner! Would absolutely return the next time I’m in Boston.
