The Olive Branch Arts Council has played an important part in the city’s cultural development since 1998. It began under the “umbrella” of the City of Olive Branch with the full support of the Mayor and Board of Alderman sponsored in part by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission.
The Olive Branch Arts Council created a mission statement “to promote an appreciation of the arts in the Olive Branch community”, and developed five goals, which have served as the guiding influence for the development of arts programs in the community and the schools. Funding is provided primarily from memberships, Foundation grants, the City of Olive Branch, the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors, and the Mississippi Arts Commission
