We have been going to OO&B and buying his beautiful Fine Olive Oils and Balsamic's for about 20 years now. Matthew was always so welcoming, kind and informative from the beginning and he is still exactly the same. We love going across the street after breakfast at Wilma's and doing some tasting's and then getting a few new bottles or restocking ones we have run out of or running low on. The Olive Oils and Balsamac's are really amazingly diverse and delicious. Thank you Matthew, The Nielsens
I have always gotten my balsamic vinegar and olive oils in Scottsdale. They have friendly shops and are very nice to purchase from these shops. However, this shop on Balboa Island is owned by a very rude, impolite, controlling individual. He was so rude to me my family and I just turned around and left. There was no way I would purchase anything from this hot head! My son wanted to have a few words with the pipsqueak, but I said let's not let one individual ruin our day. Maybe it's time for his kids to take over his small business.
Had the pleasure being introduced to this shop and meeting Matthew while visiting from Tennessee. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate in his work and he allowed our group the opportunity to sample several of the oils and vinegars he had in stock in order to help us determine what we were interested in. Between fielding our questions and helping other customers in the shop, he had his hands full but still managed to help us find exactly what we were looking for. Being from out of town, I ordered online and received products in perfect condition. Packaging was extremely secure and I will certainly be ordering again.
Incredible selection of vinegars, olive oils and gifts. The owner's knowledge and belief in his product is evident in his warm welcome as soon as you walk in the store. A must stop when in Newport Beach.
A Semitic man disguised himself as an Italian. Although he wanted to pretend to be a humorous businessman, his arrogance and conceited nature could not be concealed by the slight words. The store itself is an empty dismissive
Love this place! I stop by without fail every time I am in SoCal. The mission and lemon olive oil are staples in my kitchen. And their wide variety of balsamics are addictive. I have multiple bottles at all times. My favorite is the black cherry - perfect for salad dressing. I have also purchased online and sent gift sets to friends for various occasions. They are a huge hit every time! Thanks so much!
I absolutely love this place, which I visited for quite several years now. I love the selection of products and the overall philosophy of the place, profoundly rooted in the Italian tradition of fine cuisine, together with the owner’s friendly and personable approach. I have rarely seen a more welcoming shop. I am buying from this store olive oil, honey and preserve, excellent olive spread, and something I particularly enjoy: what’s needed for polenta. Highly recommended.
My family and I have been shopping from here for years. Matthew is very knowledgeable, professional, polite, and kind. The quality of his products is superb. Certain negative reviews I read, where people were using improper language and personal insults, only prove that certain competitors are very jealous of this shop. I always recommend this place to everyone, who can appreciate superior quality products and service.
The owner claims that peoples reviews are fabricated, and that "cyberstalking is a crime", yet nobody stalks him, and nothing people are saying is fabricated. the only fabricated reviews are those that are high stars. the owner does not know how to treat customers with respect, then is surprised when he gets the same treatment. On top of that, he is too scared to say things to peoples faces. Take your business somewhere else, grocery store olive oil will taste better than ANY interaction with Matthew Pour.
Amazing!!!! This vinegar is the highest quality available and so delicious. Matthew, the owner, is so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’ve been coming here for many, many years and he always has new flavors to try. Definitely recommend!
