OPS International/ dba Olympia Compounding Pharmacy launched in June of 2014, is the first and only compounding pharmacy built from the ground up as an FDA 503B Outsourcing Facility. The Outsourcing Facilty designation was created by the FDA in November of 2013 in an effort to rase the bar in the compounding pharmacy industry. Outsourcing Facilties, like Olympia, are governed by strict CGMP guidelines, which are the same guidelines pharmaceutical manufactuers follow. Because these new guidelines are so stringent, there are currently only about 50 compounders who have been able to elevate their facilities to the new Outsourcing Facility designation.
