After leaving several messages on my portal and trying to call the front office several times also , which is literally impossible to actually speak to a person, I ended up going elsewhere for treatment. A courtesy possibly of saying "the dr. is out of the office until ...." But no, response is terrible. Only prompts. There are still offices that actually have people manning the phones and receptionists that work with you. After many many years of going to Olympus Clinic seeing great doctors and nurses that seemed to have time, we are changing our care to others. Most of the problems I've seen have been front office and the reviews I have read, also indicate the same .
I like the doctors but the receptionist is rude and lied to my face when I asked why Jill my doctors assistant would not return my many phone messages to renew my medication. She claimed my doctor and Jill had just returned that day Tues from two weeks vacation. Truth was that Jill left early Fri. and Mon. and just didn't give a hoot that I was without my medication. So unkind and ignorant about her job. I witnessed reception treat a very elderly man with such impatient and rude language, to a man who was very frail and could barely stand. I watched this gentleman feel his way toward toward the enter door to the doctor's offices only then did I notice the man was blind. No one helped him. This Obese woman at reception is a villain and yet she somehow keeps her job.
Olympus Family medicine is the last place I would ever go again. Their front desk is the worst and totally rude. The doctors are just ok but it is when you leave that it gets really bad. I was billed the wrong amount. My appointment was a well exam and totally covered by my insurance. They kept billing me and then very quickly sent me to collections. When I would call they would not help me. This went on for several months. It was like they were intentionally trying to ruin my credit. I finally had to get a manager of my own insurance company to call them multiple times and ask them to properly bill them so they could pay. They even gave them a hard time! I then looked on additional google reviews and found now that this is regular for this place. PATIENT BEWARE!!
The doctor I saw was great here. However, I was highly highly unimpressed with the inability to make payment online or by calling. I called 8-10 times several weeks in a row without anyone picking up the phone to take my payment. Then, I went on to their website and their payment portal was down. Not impressed! I finally got around to mailing a check and got a collections notice in the mail from a collection agency even though I had already submitted my payment. Additionally, the front desk staff was always pretty rude the three times I went there. I mentioned something to one of the doctors and she didn’t think it was a big deal. For these reasons, I would not recommend going to this clinic. Go somewhere else and save your time for when you have to make payment.
Receptionists do not know what they're doing and are extremely rude. I had already had an appointment scheduled and was told I could make payments in order to be seen. Then I received a call from the same receptionists the day of my appointment claiming I couldn't be seen because she had mistaken their policies. Do not waste your time with this doctors office.
So sad, but they have no patient loyalty. We have been going here for a few years. When I called to make an appointment for a daughter who had not been a patient yet because she had no need, I was told that even though she is part of our family who all are seen here, that they would not take her. I’m talking a routine school visit that I was willing to schedule for 3-4 months out. I was told to just find a new doctor for the whole family. Save time and find someone you like that you can stay with. Such a waste. I understand why they have 2.5 stars on yelp.
Among the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life trying to get in contact with anyone for various reasons, whether scheduling an appointment or refill requests, it's just the absolute worst. It's also super annoying that you can't manage any sort of payment for your account through the elation app they use to see your balance, it's 2023, unreal. The doctors are hit or miss, some good, some bad.
I don't usually write reviews but our experience with this clinic made me want to warn others. My husband is a new patient in this clinic and came for a wellness check-up. He's a healthy 40 year-old guy and definitely wasn't sick during the visit. The visit was brief. Couple of weeks later we received a bill from this clinic. He was charged for what was supposed to be an annual wellness visit. We reached out to our insurance to dispute it and was told the the clinic coded the visit as "sick visit" even though it was not. We called Olympus Family Clinic's billing department many times and left messages to get the billing corrected but they NEVER answered our phones calls nor called us back. I am appalled by the dishonesty of this place. We thought it might have been a mistake but after reading other comments, it seems like our experience wasn't a sole incident. Sounds like their billing practices are somewhat questionable. So if you're going in for a first visit to get established in their clinic, make sure to inform the staff and doctor that that visit is for an annual wellness check-up, otherwise you'd be paying $$$ just to meet and greet your new doctor. Also, I agree with the other comments - the front office staffs were rude and unprofessional every time I talked to them over the phone. The first time was when the staff hanged up on me because it took me a few seconds to answer after being put on hold for 10 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called again to set up an appointment. The other time was when I asked about my upcoming wellness visit. I wanted to avoid my husband's experience of getting charged for a wellness check-up so I called them up to clarify the details. The staff I talked to seemed to complain that she just works at the front office and doesn't know the answer to my question and transferred me to a voice mailbox. I thought that was unprofessional. Because of this experience I cancelled my upcoming appointment and would never recommend this place. I feel like I have tried to overlook the unpleasant experience we've had with this clinic but their rudeness and lack of response are enough to take my business somewhere else. There are a lot of other healthcare clinics that foster kindness, genuine care, and honesty. I
After being a patient at Olympus Clinic for over 25 years, starting when it was in its old building, myself and my son were dropped as patients after suggesting that I would consider legal action against them for refusing to see my son who has MS and has severe nerve pain requiring him to be on Oxycodone since 2008. Dr. Heath was our doctor until he went on a mission recently. He made sure that my son had a prescription for his Oxycodone so he wouldn't run out before he could find a new doctor at Olympus Clinic. After repeatedly trying to get someone to answer the phone and after three times of being put on hold each time for up to an hour only to finally being hung up on, he finally got a call back from the clinic. He informed them that his prescription couldn't be filled at Wal-Mart where he always has it refilled because thet were out of it. The pharmacist told him that he could transfer the prescription to Costco but it had to be approved by a doctor from the clinic. My son had taken his last pill the night before anticipating that his prescription would be filled the following day. He was starting to experience withdrawal symptoms and was getting worse. He had previously made an appointment with Dr Gamble which was ten days later than the day he ran out of pills. When the clinic finally called him back he asked if he could come in to see Dr Gamble that day seeing he was suffering from withdrawal symptoms. He was told by who I assume was the doctors nurse that no, Dr. Gamble wouldn't see him until the following week and then she flippantly told him that he should just go to the ER. Luckily, he was able to get hold of his neurologist who called him in a new prescription even though she was out of the office that day unlike Dr.Gamble who could care less that he was suffering from withdrawal symptoms. When my son told me what had happened I emailed Christine K who seems to be the person who answers any inquiries for the clinic. I expressed my concerns that Dr.Gamble refused to see my son and them if he ended up severely ill or in the hospital, we would consider legal action against the doctor and Olympus Clinic. The next morning my son and I both received emails from Christine K informing us that we could no longer be patients there ever again. We were told that we could fill out a medical records request form and they would send us our medical records. It's been over three weeks and I am still waiting. The Utah statute states that the medical provider must give you your medical records within thirty days. I would strongly recommend that if you're looking for a doctor, not to use Olympus Clinic their front desk and email communications portal are a joke and if you're lucky enough to actually get through on the phone, you'll most likely be left on hold until they eventually just hang up on you and, their email portal takes forever to get a response. Doctor Heath was a very caring doctor and if he had been there none of this would have happened. His nurse Pat who also retired, would have made sure that the front office was efficient and staffed with people who actually cared. The worst part of Olympus Clinic is the fact that in order to get your medication refilled, they require you to come in every ninety days to see your doctor to get refills on medication that most people have been on for years. I assume that they do this so they can collect a co- payment and bill your insurance company for an office visit while your doctor spends about five minutes with you while he enters your prescription into the computer and asks where you want them to be refilled. I have a ophthalmologist and an Dermatolgist that I have been seeing for over thirty years and all they require is a yearly visit and they refill my medications for a year. Since they built their big expensive new building, all Olympus Clinic and its doctors care about is money. There are a lot of better options out there that have caring and compassionate doctors and staff that should try and address any concerns instead of randomly banning thier patients!
The only loyal person in that building is my Dr, which is Romo. She is very caring and has been my primary Dr for 5 years. I highly recommend the Dr, but the automated calling service, reception desk, and billing service is a 0/5.
