Don't walk, RUN. This place is worth every penny. Where to start. Uhh well, the restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside. However, the inside is quite nice. It has the great atmosphere that one would expect from a deli/cafe establishment. Also, the service. Top Notch!! We overheard the staff talking amongst themselves and gleaned that several of the staff were pretty new. You wouldn't have known though because the synergy among them was superb. It's not often that you see the level of cooperation among a waitstaff to keep each table tended to. We were constantly getting refills on coffee and water by several waitresses. We also witnessed the happiness amongst the staff as everyone was cheerful and smiling often. Great to see- post Covid lows. Coffee was great. Hot and fresh brewed. Plus, at each table they have an assortment of creamer flavors to choose from. And now the showstoppers. The FOOD!!! My wife and I ordered Chocolate Chip pancakes and the Irish Omelet. The pancakes were on par for what they are and are a very generous portion of 3 large cakes. But what made our tongues smack was the Irish Omelet. First off, its a massive meal. Second, this thing is loaded with all the great savory breakfast tastes. It has hashbrowns, perfectly seasoned and cooked corn beef hash, green peppers and onions, swiss cheese, and more; all INSIDE an omelet. My mouth is watering again while writing about it. The omelet also comes with a choice of toast and I got the Cinnamon Raisin. I didn't expect to get what I got. It was two very large texas toast size slices of bread that had plenty of raisin and cinnamon swirled in . To top them off, they had a dollup of icing on each piece to add extra sweetness. That was a welcome surprise as well. Since this place came highly recommended to us by our local friends, I also ordered a corned beef and pastrami reuben to go. Now I happen to be a bit of a snob when it comes to Reubens having sampled sooo many different versions over the years. I gotta say, despite the fact that I waited several hours before eating this sandwich cold, it easily makes it into my Top 3 of all time. The meats, phenomenal. Piled high, cut thin, and seasoned just right. I had them put the dressing on the side to keep it from getting soggy. So I tried the sandwich with and without dressing. Incredible even without. The meat just shines. Not much more to say about it. So if anyone is considering eating here. Don't walk, RUN. You won't regret it, truly.
The food here is AMAZING! From the French toast to the country skillet, burgers. Have not had one bad thing here. While it does cost a bit more than the Coney Island across the street it’s well worth it. Bigger portions and great service.Food: 5/5
Went to eat there. Giant portions. Food was amazing. Split a meal cause the portions are so big. Can’t eat it all. And everything is expensive. Got charged extra to split the meal. Waitress didn’t tell us that and just charged us. And was 4 bucks for one coke. Service lacked. Food was great. Will not be back.Food: 5/5
Fast and very friendly service, delicious sandwiches, decadent breakfast. It was a little bit on the loud side with waitstaff, but they were all super friendly. I think it's just the atmosphere. I had the Detroit Shock and it was really really good. The pastrami and corned beef combo was very good. The slaw on sandwich was fresh and they bring a squeeze bottle of what looks and tastes like housemade 1000 island dressing. Waitstaff kept drinks refilled and table clean. It was very busy, with takeouts and customers who were seated. I would recommend this place, especially for the sandwiches! Meat is their specialty. Apparently you can buy a whole cooked ham as well.
I'm outraged. This place has raised my standard for coney island restaurant food so high that I will never be able to be satisfied by another coney island ever again. Unreal.
Very nice experience. Waitress so nice. Lots of good food.yum. hot coffee fill ups Parking: S. Saginaw st. Plenty
Pretty expensive, till you see the portion sizes. Place reminds me of Tony's in Birch Run. Ordered a sandwich and it took up the entire plate and was 6 inches tall. Wait staff are great people
Outstanding service!! Amazing food. The place is clean. Very small, people patiently wait their turn for a seat, to enjoy the fantastic food!Food: 5/5
Love this place! Both Pastrami and corned beef combo sandwiches are sooo good! The bread is perfect. I want to say it's homemade, but I am not sure. Tastes like it! I can't stand Rye bread because of the seeds, and this Rye bread doesn't have them. I crave their sandwiches. The only bad thing is, they close at 5 pm and I get off work too late to eat there. Saturday is the only day I can go. I wish they closed at 7 pm so I could have dinner from there during the week.
Great place! The customers in this place are obviously regulars and the staff is super friendly. After trying the corn beef I see why too. Update 4 years after first post, still going here. Food is wonderful and staff is too. Portions are large and you can often split.
